Not a great experience; everything is designed to make the visitor spend money, you have to wait in line to take the elevator and go up, so far so good, then to go down it is a nightmare!!! An enormous line, the elevator does not go all the way down, it stops at several floors to make the tourist spend money, and to go back down each time you have to wait in line again and take at least 3 elevators to arrive at the ground floor, a horrible organization, an experience that costs a lot of money! Then you finish your visit in front of a shopping arcade and there is a shop that sells or shows insects and reptiles. A squirrel is locked in a cage at the entrance of the shop; it has no fur left on its tail because it is so miserable, its coat is damaged, it is sad to see 399rmb per person for the highest floor 199rmb for the second floor
Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback with us. We're sorry your descent from the observation deck felt so tedious. This happens because the tower is built with multiple observation spheres at different heights, each served by its own elevator bank — so on the way down, visitors often need to queue again and change elevators at each level rather than going straight to the ground floor. We understand this can make the experience feel drawn out, especially after enjoying the view. We also take your comments about the shop near the exit seriously, and we will make sure this is raised as well. We will be sure to convey your full review to the Shanghai management of the Oriental Pearl Tower so that can be looked into. We appreciate you taking the time to share this, as it helps us improve the experience for future visitors.
