Sigiriya is an ancient rock fortress located in Sri Lanka. It's renowned for its stunning frescoes, water gardens, and the massive lion's paw entrance. The site was built during the reign of King Kashyapa in the 5th century AD and is considered one of Sri Lanka's most iconic landmarks. It's also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, known for its historical significance and architectural marvels.

We had a wonderful day with Saman. He is a very attentive friendly driver who took us to Sigiriya Rock and then showed us some photoworthy spots around the area before bringing us to Pidurangala rock in time for sunset. There's spectacular views from both rocks and although Sigiriya Rock is quite expensive I'd recommend to go up there as well as on Pidurangala Rock, because only then you can apprechiate how steep and impossible to climb Sigiriya Rock looks.
