Where Viator ticket says to meet is different from the meeting spot. We raced to the new location and had to wait. There were 2 of us only but we had to have an ear piece. The guide would just keep talking and talking and walking away. It was not a private tour. We felt like we paid for a group tour. When the guide left us it was not at the drop point that Viator said and we spent 45 minutes trying to find our way out. I wanted the best. We couldn’t go down below even though that’s what I thought we paid more for.

Several points need clarification:
1. **THIS WAS A PRIVATE TOUR.** There were only two of you, with a guide EXCLUSIVELY AT YOUR DISPOSAL. Describing this as a group tour does not accurately reflect the service provided.
2. **YOU AGREED TO USE THE HEADSETS.** The guide asked whether you wanted them, and you said yes. Headsets help you hear clearly in crowded archaeological sites and have nothing to do with whether a tour is private.
3. **YOU CHOSE TO REMAIN INSIDE THE ROMAN FORUM.** At the end of the tour, the guide offered to accompany you out, but you declined and decided to continue exploring independently.
4. **THE COLOSSEUM UNDERGROUND WAS NOT INCLUDED.** You booked a tour including the ARENA, not the Underground. This distinction is clearly stated in the tour description before booking and in the booking information.
5. **EXPLAINING THE SITES IS THE GUIDE’S JOB.** Historical commentary is a central part of a guided tour. Your guide also reported that you showed little interest from the beginning and frequently did not listen to the explanations.
We regret that the experience did not meet your expectations. However, a tour with TWO GUESTS AND AN EXCLUSIVE GUIDE is a private experience, and the distinction between the service booked and your expectations needs to be clear.

So glad we booked this tour!
We had only two days in Rome and honestly had no idea how we were going to fit everything in. Booking this tour turned out to be a great decision.
We saw the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Vatican and a lot of places around the city that we probably would have missed on our own. Our guide was fantastic – very friendly, easy to talk to and clearly knew Rome inside out. We could ask questions, stop when we wanted and never felt like we were just being moved from one attraction to the next.
There is a lot to see in two days, so be prepared for two busy days, but it was absolutely worth it. Everything was organized for us and we didn’t have to spend our time in Rome figuring out tickets, entrances or where to go next.
By the end we were tired but very happy! If it’s your first visit to Rome and you don’t have much time, this is a really good way to see the city.

Fantastic Private Tour!
We have toured the Colosseum before in a large group, but did the arena floor tour as a private tour and it was really fantastic! It really moved at our pace and we had time to focus on what was of particular interest to us. Also, our guide was fantastic! Extremely knowledgeable and very enjoyable. A really great part of our trip!

Great in-depth tour of Rome!
Eve was a great tour guide! We learned alot about the Colosseum, Palatine Hill and the Forum. She answered all our questions and was very willing to take pictures. She pointed out spots where you could see the original plasterwork and had a handy book that had colorized images of the same places in ancient times and today.

Guide was very knowledgeable! She also was able to customize parts of the tour based on sun and shade. Also took some great family photos for us.

Our Tour Guide, Giorgio, was excellent.... but
Very pricey IMO, but our Tour Guide, Giorgio, was very knowledgeable and the company he works for "Tour in the City" had excellent communication and was on time 👍👍 However, we did not have such good luck with our first 2 bookings through VIATOR. They sold us 2 different ones and then later canceled them, claiming they were full, while still showing them as available on their website 🤦

Fabulous tour and experience!
Our guide, Lara, was simply wonderful. She was very informative and engaging. We were just stunned at the beauty of St. Peter's. Sadly the Sistine Chapel was not allowing visitors for the conclave.
