聖フランシスコ大聖堂は、世界で最も愛されている聖人の一人であるアッシジの聖フランシスコの墓を保存している2階建ての13世紀の建物です。この壮大で豪華な装飾が施された教会には、チマブエ、ジョット、シモーネ・マティーニ、ピエトロ・ロレンツェッティなどの有名なイタリア中世の画家のフレスコ画も保存されています。
最後の上部の教会は、教会の側壁を飾る有名な絵画のサイクルを通して、聖フランシスコの生活を知ることができます。

I visited this but not with a tour guide. St Francis of Assisi was born and died here. It is a Roman Catholic Church. The basilica began in 1298. It has an Upper and Lower church and is listed on the UNESCO World Heritage Site
