Amazing day white water rafting on Rio Savegre with Iguana Tours. Our guide, Gabriel, was extremely knowledgeable, fun and made us feel safe the entire trip. The photos and videos they took of our family were a nice touch (for a small fee). The river was clean, water good temp and lunch after was amazing! The guides found out it was my husband’s birthday and surprised him with a cake after lunch. It was such a nice gesture. The only somewhat negative was the drive from Manuel Antonio area and the bus was not the most comfortable;but overall a fantastic day. I highly recommend Iguana Tours!
This was our favorite tour of the entire trip! From the moment we were picked up, the experience felt personal, authentic, and laid-back. Even the 1.5-hour drive to the river was enjoyable. We stopped at a local resident’s home for homemade empanadas, explored his beautiful garden, and had a chance to stretch our legs during a restroom break. It was such a unique touch that made the day feel special. Once on the river, Brian was fantastic with our family, especially our 10- and 12-year-old kids. He struck the perfect balance between fun and safety, making sure everyone felt comfortable while still allowing the kids to jump off the raft and swim in the calm sections of the river. Safety was clearly a top priority throughout the trip, and having a dedicated safety kayaker added an extra layer of confidence. The safety kayaker also doubled as an incredible photographer, capturing amazing photos at a very reasonable price. The pictures were well worth it and allowed us to fully enjoy the experience without worrying about taking our own photos. The stop at the waterfall was the icing on the cake. It was hands down the most impressive waterfall we saw during our entire trip and made an already incredible day even more memorable. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone visiting the area. It was an unforgettable experience and a highlight of our vacation!
Incredible tour! The guides were so personable and made this day so fun for our whole family! We went with our 10 & 12 year old. The stop at the waterfall was amazing… and lunch was the cherry on top! Thank you! Brian was our guide and he was top-notch!

Unfortunately, our rafting guide was reckless. After the guide made no effort to stop our raft, we crashed when another raft got stuck in rapids. I was thrown from the raft and lost my prescription glasses. After filing an accident report, Iguana Tours agreed in writing to reimburse me for replacement glasses. Later, they decided not to reimburse me.
Dear customer, your comment do not have all the information about your trip. 1. Our guide before and during the safety talk, told you, we were not responsable if you take your glasses in the rafting trip. There were much posibilities to lose them. 2. Your group guide also told you not to take then down the river, becuase you might loose then. 3. Yes I did answer we could refund you the cost of the glases if was our fould. As you did not told us all the true in your e-mail. 4. I have in written by our Rafting tour guide, your group guide that your were told not to take the glasses. 5. Even do you took them, and after you swimm, you did not told any one on the group you lost your glasses. Either to your group guide, nor any of our rafting guides 6. We knew you lose your glases days later when your send an e-mail asking for the money of your glases. We believe you are not telling the whole true about this situation. We Actually refund you the trip cost. We kindly ask you to reconsider the situation happened and do not try to damage our reputation. Thank you very much , Adrian Martinez - Iguana Tours.

This was a highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. It was so thoughtfully put together and we had a blast. The river was fun but not scary, with lots of opportunities to jump in the water. The guides were friendly and so engaging. We even took a break at a waterfall along the river route. I would do this again in a heartbeat.

Mauricio led my husband and I down the Savgre in fairly low water, so more of a float than a rafting trip but it was beautiful and fun! There were plenty of deep pools we could stop and swim in and a nice break at a waterfall that we really enjoyed. We also saw a pretty rare sighting of the Common Potoo in route to the put in! Somehow he spotted from the van and it was pretty wild. Highly recommend and also a shout out to our driver Andres and the other guide Eric. We had a blast!
