I took this one-day tour and had a very good experience. One of the best things about the tour is the convenience—the tour picks you up directly from your hotel and drops you back there at the end of the day. Our guide, Mary, was excellent. She speaks English very well and has personally visited 44 countries, which made her stories and explanations even more interesting. She was very knowledgeable about the history and background of each place we visited and explained everything clearly. The tour also included a buffet lunch. As a Muslim, I could not eat the meat options because they were not halal, but there were several vegetable dishes, and I found them quite good. As part of the tour, we also visited a gemstone shop and a tea shop. Overall, it was a well-organized and enjoyable day tour, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a convenient way to explore the area with a knowledgeable guide.

Hotel pickup by the wonderful driver, very pleasant and friendly. Always with a smile. Our guide Mary was very funny, great knowledge of what we were seeing. She explained the entire history of the Forbidden City and the Square to us. She showed us places you wouldn't find on your own. Essential to avoid lines at the entrances, which are currently very restricted. Thanks to Mary and the driver whose name I don't remember 😍

Mary was a wonderful tour guide. She was funny and knew her job well. We enjoyed the tour very much. The Great Wall was an epic and the Forbidden City plus Tinamen Square were amazing. Thanks, Mary!

We lucked out and got decent weather and the wall was practically empty so that was nice. The tour guide was also nice and helpful in answering questions and spoke English well. However, what really bothered me is that there were things added to the tour that was not listed. I feel these things should’ve been told beforehand in the tour description. The tour stopped at a Jade factory and tea shop. It was fine cuz I happened to be okay with those things but otherwise it’s a waste of time that didn’t need to be included in the hours and more time could be spent doing the things that are actually advertised in the tour. And the sales people at the stores can be pushy. However my biggest problem was that on the way to the Great Wall the tour guide asked us for money to pay for the gondola ride. Taking the gondola was not the problem as I had planned to attempt to take it while I was there, however the problem is demanding that you pay for something on the spot during the tour that was not advertised. Everything was advertised as included in the tour. That is very unprofessional and the tour company needs to be more transparent. The gondola ride should be optional or stated that it will cost extra rather than being surprised with an extra cost on the trip. We only spend 1.5 hrs at the wall but could’ve spent more if not having added unnecessary things to the itinerary. The wall part is unguided and you are free to walk around on your own. You’re told that you must leave your bags in the transportation vehicle in order to get through security faster and again this was demanded and not optional which I wasn’t comfortable leaving my purse unattended. But I just took out my important stuff and luckily brought my money cuz I decided to buy a souvenir at the palace. Another lady was disappointed that she couldnt buy a souvenir cuz she left her money and purse in the vehicle. (FYI the line to get into the forbidden city can be an hour or more and the security is very thorough with pat downs and detailed searching of everything you have.) The pick up time was told the night before at around 6p. The tour bus was on time and the bus driver was also pleasant. I feel that tips are optional and while told it was optional they should not be insinuated and asked for. Overall wasn’t a bad experience but kind of disappointing because of the things I mentioned that were not transparent beforehand when signing up for the tour.

We had a great time on this tour, there was a lot of activities packed into one day- from the forbidden city, tea house, lunch, and the great wall. Our guide took us on some of the quickest routes, avoiding the worst of the queues and going to a quieter section of the walls, so we could really have the best experience. It was inexpensive for a full day, and i’d highly recommend to everyone.
