Regarding the Hill of Crosses, our product is listed as a Bauska & Rundale tour with the Hill of Crosses available as an optional extension. We offer different booking options, including both with and without the Hill of Crosses. As your selected option did not include it, the Hill of Crosses was not part of your itinerary. Before the tour, our host contacted you specifically to clarify the language arrangements. It was explained that the driver would be English-speaking and that you would receive tour materials/booklets in German, which you confirmed was acceptable. We would also like to clarify that the tour description states that guests receive informational materials in their preferred language — in your case, German. It does not state that the driver will conduct the entire tour in German. According to our driver and our communication during the tour, you appeared to enjoy the experience. In addition to the booked itinerary, our driver made every effort to make your day special: he shared information about Latvia and the Baltic countries, recommended places to visit, provided additional sightseeing suggestions for Vilnius, and even took you on an extra tour through Riga’s Art Nouveau district and to an Orthodox church during the Trinity celebrations. We were also happy to offer several complimentary local treats, including fresh strawberries, Riga Black Balsam and Latvian chocolates. For these reasons, your one-star review came as a genuine surprise to us, particularly as you expressed your appreciation to the driver personally and generously tipped him at the end of the tour. We always respect our guests’ opinions, but we also kindly encourage travellers to carefully review the language information and inclusions in the activity description before booking, as we make every effort to describe exactly what is provided.
