How fondly we think back to the two weeks in Sri Lanka when Navin showed us his wonderful country. As newcomers to Sri Lanka, we decided to hire Navin as a guide and driver. And we were not disappointed! We immediately felt very comfortable traveling with Navin. The varied two-week program allowed us to explore some beautiful areas. And thanks to Navin's diverse knowledge and his many years of experience as a guide, we learned a lot about the landscape, the population, Buddhism, agriculture, tea cultivation, the school system and much more. On our trips along the sea, past rice fields, on winding roads up into the high mountains, through villages and towns with hectic traffic, we were happy about his careful and safe driving. Also unforgettable was the hike up Sigiriya Rock with the ruins of the Heavenly Palace, which Navin took with us early in the morning, before the big rush and in pleasant morning temperatures, the trip to the Bomburu waterfall, the safaris in Yala and Wilpattu National Park. Anuradhapura's witnesses of the old kingdom, the temples and old buildings were also impressive. Thank you, Navin, for your pleasant, friendly, attentive and committed company! With Navin’s guidance we saw and did more than we could have done otherwise. We saved $$$ by using his contacts and experience to go to sites and to book things such as cooking class in the village, safari tours and local restaurants - much more expensive using the hotel offerings as we stayed in luxe. Navin was at all times reliable, polite and willing to do anything to make our day more enjoyable - for example when our energy levels, the weather or a change of heart meant we wanted to do more or less or something else - he facilitated it without ado. Do think you need to think carefully about Knuckle Mountains. It’s is leech infested, and the scenery and experience was not worth the consequences! Suggest you check with Navin at the end of each day what type of clothing is needed for the next day’s outing - Navin can assist and ensure you do not inadvertently offend sacred site standards. While activities are usually planned as 1/2 day, enquire about how long it takes to get there and back, as that helps you know how much down time at the accommodation you will have to enjoy. Navin knows great places to recommend - obvious must sees as well as more hidden gems and he uses his contacts very well to tap into. In summary we felt at the end of our fortnight with him that we gained a friend. His devotion to Buddhism comes through in his gorgeous approach to people and to life. He’s a lot of fun too. We have so many selfies as evidence!

Excellent tour guide. Navin went above and beyond to make our sri lanka trip enjoyable. He was always on time, reasonably priced, super flexible, spoke good english and incredibly polite. He was also able to find last minute train tickets when no other agency could. I would definitely recommend him as a driver and tour guide.

People are often enquiring about drivers/ guides and so I want to share the amazing experience I have just had with Navin from Navin Lanka Tours. I decided for my first Sri Lanka trip that to make the most of the time I had available to visit the central part of Sri Lanka including the ancient cities, I could do with a driver. After some research I came across some positive reviews about Navin especially on TripAdvisor and made an enquiry. Navin was fast to respond, polite and highly competitive. I spent 6 days with Navin taking me from Kandy to Sigiriya, Polonnaruwa, Anuradhapura and Jaffna and lots of places in between. What an incredible experience I had thanks entirely to Navin. I’ve never had a driver before on any holiday I have done, I’m usually quite independent, so I really didn’t know what to expect. With Navin I didn’t just get an excellent driver, I also got a highly professional, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and entirely passionate travel guide. Navin was totally professional, so friendly, very punctual, fantastically funny sense of humour,great conversationalist and interested in learning new things. Best of all Navin has a genuine love for nature, the environment and the animals of Sri Lanka. Navin’s enthusiasm for his job especially for the history and culture of Sri Lanka made my experience all that more special. When I experienced a medical issue part way through our trip, Navin was quick to help me. He went above and beyond the call of duty to get me the attention I needed and he was so caring, concerned and compassionate. He has even continued to check in on me in the time since I left Sri Lanka just to see how I am doing. So so kind. If Navin is the standard for drivers/guides in Sri Lanka then he has set the bar bloody high 😄 Thankyou Navin for making my experience so wonderful, for being so caring, for loving your job and your country and for exposing me to a Sri Lanka I would never have got to experience the same way without your help. I cannot recommend Navin highly enough. He was absolutely amazing, I am so lucky to have found him and I was sad to say goodbye.
