Annette was very kind and asked if we wanted to look at something in particular. She asked about allergies, which was nice. She explained the culture behind each food and how it was made as well as telling us about the two markets. The short tour was enough to fill us up with four dishes, one drink, fruit, and a dessert. Overall the food tour was an amazing way to get to know about the place we were in, and we knew what to order for the rest of our trip since we did the tour on the first day!

Fernando was a great guide--friendly, accommodating, knowledgeable--and the food was delicious! We enjoyed learning about the market and buying some spices and other small items.

It was such a great experience we learned so much about not only the food but the history our tour guide was so nice and friendly and so helpful! It made us appreciate the history of Merida so much more. I highly recommend it!

Our guide Sylvie was knowledgeable and animated. She brought us through the Lucas de Galvez market where we enjoyed many new foods and a delicious agua fresca. It was a good introduction to the market and foods...a perfect way to start our stay in Merida.

Lots of good food and interesting markets! Was a good orientation to common foods of the area, and our guide Marcos was lovely and enthusiastic. Still, would like to have heard more about how each dish /the market is integrated into daily life (eg. is this dish for breakfast? for celebrations? who goes to the market when? etc).

Today my friends and I had this market food tour in Merida. Our guide Marcos was a great guy. Very social, knowledgable and just a super kind guy. We ate a lot of typical local cuisine that we wouldn't have tried without him. We learned about local costums and foods. We highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to eat good food, while learning about Merida and it's food culture. Thanks Marcos for this great experience!

Laura was very friendly and friendly, made the tour very interesting and enjoyable. All dishes in local and authentic places of the place. Everything was very rich, from the juices we started with to the paddle of the end. We would repeat without a doubt.

Alex was super knowledgeable and exposed to wide variety of foods and how they are made. Helped us get the spices to recreate our favorite dish at home and went out of his way to support our curiosity on new fruits we hadn’t seen before! Ages were 25-48 work colleagues and we all loved it. Also it was super hot, but tour starts with the best aqua Fresca stand that keeps you cool rest of stops, so don’t let that keep you. Highly recommend doing early in your trip as you’ll see many of the dishes on menus throughout the week.

Absolutely wonderful experience. Marcus was a fantastic guide and personalized everything. We navigated places in the market, I would never have gone alone, and ate delicious foods, that I would have been too afraid to try. We id not book a private tour, but it ended up just being a friend and I so we really had a great experience. I can't wait to go back to the market to buy spices, fruits and vegetables. I highly recommend this tour.
