The tour was interesting and informative. It was also not too long which was good for kids. Do not forget to cover your shoulders and legs for the tour.
Antonella was a great guide. We had no trouble at the meeting point. There are strict rules about entry into the Basilica and she was able to navigate this easily. She did a great job explaining a lot on the tour and overall was worth it.

Charged our credit card and just a few hours later cancelled the trip! Now we get to wait 5-7 days for them to credit our credit card. No poor reflection on the tour since we did not get to go. This is a poor reflection on Viator.

Worst tour of our 20-day trip! Start time changed at last minute. Tour guide was not at meeting point at stated time. Once in St. Mark’s we waited for 15 min for tour guide. She stated she had to help someone with a ticket issue. At 11:40, we left the tour and saw the church on our own. As we had no tour guide with us, we were denied access to the museum and terrace. When we completed our tour, she was STILL helping the person with the ticket issue. Horrible guide and company!

However, after reviewing the situation with both our coordinators and the other participants on the tour, we can confirm that the guide did not arrive late. In fact, she was present in advance. As a professional guide, she also has a responsibility to assist guests who may encounter issues, and we are pleased that she was helping customers who needed support. As explained on the day, entry to St. Mark’s Basilica and Museum and Terrace, is only permitted when accompanied by the guide. This is a rule established by the Basilica authorities and is not something we are able to modify. While the tour did proceed, you chose not to continue with the guided experience and decided to leave the group before its completion. As a result, access to the areas included as part of the guided visit was unfortunately no longer available. We sincerely apologize for any frustration caused and appreciate your comments. Our tour guide wasn’t given the proper tickets to enter St. Mark’s Basilica, so we weren’t allowed entrance. Total waste of time.

The tour was outstanding! Our guide was a citizen of Venice, so her knowledge of the basilica as well as the city itself made our tour even more enjoyable!

Careful of who you book with. After making reservations months ago and paying for this excursion, the day before the event , I was notified from operator of event time change. I agreed with their request. Next morning and day of the tour, I received notification they were canceling and would refund us. (Hopefully they will refund) It was now too late to book with another operator as this tour is a popular one. This is poor service. I have booked with Viator later this summer on a different trip and my confidence with Viator is now shaken.
