We had an outstanding day birding in Cape Town. Alfie was an exceptional guide—friendly, patient, and impressively knowledgeable—able to spot and identify birds with ease and share fascinating insights about their behavior and habitats. Our morning walking around at Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden was beautiful and productive. In the afternoon we visited Strandfontein Sewage Works—an unexpectedly superb site for birding despite its surroundings—and it delivered fantastic wetland and wader sightings, including flamingos which we did not expect. Altogether we recorded over 80 species, making the tour both rewarding and memorable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Cape Town who wants an expert-led, top-quality birding experience.

Had an incredible time on two back-to-back bird watching days led by Alfie! He was promptly on time both mornings and we managed to somehow get to exactly 100 different species of birds, blowing past our old record for new Lifers - and this was in the South African winter! We did luckily have unseasonably great weather. Would highly recommend this tour!

I had an absolutely fantastic day bird watching with Alfie! We saw an incredible 84 species, and his knowledge of the local birds was truly impressive. This tour was perfect for my one free day in Cape Town, and Alfie knew exactly where to go to find all the birds. Afterward, he sent a full list of everything we saw to keep for my records, which was a great touch! I highly, highly recommend Alfie, he's a fantastic guide and a fun person to spend the day with. A wonderful day with Alfie. Spent 3-4 hours in Kirstenbosch in the morning - beautiful gardens and lots of birds to be seen. Lunch at the tearooms was lovely and very reasonable. The afternoon driving round the various ponds around the sewage works was fantastic - loads of wetland birds including flamingoes and a nesting Sacred Ibis colony. I am a novice birder but am hooked!

Everything I could say about Alfie as a bird guide would be understating how good he is. Incredibly knowledgeable, very ethical birder and totally straight forward on setting expectations. Highly recommended a trip to local birding areas with Alfie.

A brilliant day of birdwatching! Alfie is a fantastic guide; knowledgeable, a good communicator and excellent company. An early start at Kirstenbosch Gardens ensured that we saw many species of birds in their beautiful natural habitat. After a delicious lunch at the Garden’s Tea House we headed for the False Bay Nature Reserve for more birds. A total of 77 species .. a great tally! Thanks Alfie.

Alfie was amazing in identifying birds from sound and sight! He knew where to look for which ones. He went the extra mile to list the birds so we can identify them in our photos later. He was as excited as we were and went the extra mile to find certain birds in the cold weather. A wonderful guide!

We were traveling to Africa for the first time and, as pretty avid birdwatchers, we wanted to find a guide to help us see these spectacular birds for the first time. We came across the reviewers for Alfie on TripAdvisor and instantly decided, just from the reviews, that he would hopefully be our guide. And he was, for a full day, with many many new birds (75 in all) as well as the company of just a wonderful interesting person. We had a wonderful day and hope that Alfie will be your choice as a bird/nature guide.

This was a fantastic birding day, Alfie is so knowledgeable about birds and butterflies and plants. The trip in his car was comfortable and there was snacks, drinks. Would highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to explore a little more of Cape Town. Thank you Alfie for a memorable day.
