We traveled with Jonathan and he was so much fun. Knowledgeable and witty, he explained things very well and allowed us time for pics, as well as taking some great photos of us along the way. We stopped at a little bar along the way for an Aperol Spritz to takeaway...loved it! He got us to our dinner cruise in time to enjoy a nice dinner, light show and dancing. It was a full day/evening. Be prepared to walk a lot, nothing strenuous, but the bus ride during the last hour felt good to sit down. We were out from 1 PM To 7:30 PM when we boarded the ship for dinner. Got back to the dock around 9:30 PM. Fun day!
I communicated by phone with the Hotel El Duque and from the contact with reception and the human resources area the treatment was zero cordiality. The lady in charge of human resources sighed in a tone of "I'm sick of it" when she asked him a few simple queries like asking for contact from an email. To think that it is the HR that governs the values of the Enterprise... A shame.
its a lie!! It is not that expensive I would never do this to myself i love my money and i will not waste it
Our guide Joelle was friendly and knowledgeable. The only downside of the tour was the visit to the TSL Jewellery factory. It was a complete waste of time and the pushy salesperson who followed me around and was in my face all the time put me right off! The dinner cruise was very good.
Do yourself a favor and read the reviews before you take this trip. Our whole day in Hong Kong was wasted by Peter, our tour guide. We were picked up at our hotel at noon as specified. Then we went to Victoria Peak. After that we went to the Aberdeen Fishing Village, and for an extra charge of 60 Hong Kong Dollars you could go for a boat ride!!!! Many people decided not to go on it at all, I couldn't believe it. The description said nothing about extra charges. Then we were taken to a jewelry shop, where we were supposed to let go of some more money. After that we visited an old prison/museum! It took about five minutes to see the display and he left us there for over an hour! Everyone was just sitting there waiting for the guy to come back. After that we went to another government building and wasted more of our time on these boring places. Then we finally departed for our dinner cruise. When we arrived at the pier we waited for an hour and twenty minutes for Peter to join up with us again, just to have him tell us we had to go to another pier to catch the dinner cruise! By this time, I was outraged. I recognized the dinner boat as the one that is on this website that got all the bad reviews. So I just thought well wouldn't you know it. I was afraid to eat most of the food. Drinks were not included at all only water! Another criticism I have is that there was almost no commentary from Peter about the city's history. Basically, in between Victoria Peak and the Harbour Cruise the rest of the time was just our group sitting around bored to death. So please, if you are considering this tour. I would take a different tour to Victoria Peak, and you don't need to go to Victoria Harbour to see the light show because it can be seen from almost anywhere and it is no big deal. The people on the dinner cruise were loud and obnoxious, the food was bad and so was the music!
Pick up on time .Good sites plenty to see and great cruise and Dinner HongKong light show great, and drop back at hotel
Was told 8 hours. Picked up at 12:40 they were in parking lot but wouldn't let us on till 12:40 no others at pickup point. transfer to different vehicle. were told we couldn't finish till 9:50 and no ideas when we could return to take 12.25 flight. we didn't take boat ride or evening cruise and dinner because of uncertainty. did visit diamond shop.
This truly was not the best representation of Hong Kong and we wish we would have done this on our own. While the tour included a lot of stops, some of them could have been left out and others added. It started with having to take a taxi to another hotel to catch what we thought was the start of the tour, we got on a bus and went to a drop off point to catch another bus. We waited for about 20 minutes for that bus, so almost one hour went by and the only thing we saw was Hong Kong traffic. Once we got started we went to Victoria's Peak, and it was nice. We were able to fast pass up to the front and bypass a huge line, but we were only allotted 20 minutes on the peak and told not to let anyone take pictures of us because we have our "own photographer". After the peak we went to a "historic" fishing village to ride a Sampan, we got on the Sampan, rode around a bunch of docked boats in a dirty harbor, picket up and dropped off taxi passengers and went back, and saw nothing of the village. We then proceeded to a time share of jewelry. We had to sit through a presentation on jewelry, wade through their showroom and wait until they let us go, We were ready but it wasn't time to leave yet. When we finally got out, we went to the "escalators", rode about half way up and then walked to to old police station. Our tour guides at his own admission, said he did not know why we go there because it is all high end art and businesses. Absolute waste of time. After that we went to the harbor and took a ferry across, that was nice. After the ferry, we saw the clock tower then walked to the bus that was going to take us to the dinner cruise - yes another walk to a bus. We get to the dock and were met by a real high strung guide who spoke in half sentences, never finished one sentence. We got on the boat, saw the light show, Shanghai's harbor show is better, and started to eat. Food was okay, what you would expect from an average buffet. They had singers that sang all night, they never stopped. Honestly the cruise was longer than it should have been, it went on and on and on, a lot of passengers wanted off way before it was time. Like I said, drop the jewelry timeshare, drop the art mall, add more time to Victoria's Peak, add some temples and shrines to make it a true Hong Kong tour.
I went on this tour 3 days after the cat 5 typhoon hit Hong Kong and it was a great time ... I can not say enough good things about our guide Ken... he was wonderfully knowledgeable and entertaining the whole time and bent over backwards to navigate a tough post typhoon city to provide a unforgettable day!... the only criticism I have is the visit to the jewelry factory , it’s a 15 min commercial for buying jewelry, but I have no problem telling people I am not interested and they left me alone and I enjoyed the tea provided
the tour was ok but there was too much walking in some parts that didn't lead to anything very interesting I did enjoy the dinner cruise very much food was fantastic and lots of variety although ordering a glass of wine was interesting but it all added to the experience.
