It was very beautiful, the art had deep meaning

We almost left without going in here. Mock and stedelijk are very similar. Of course, choose that option if you have to. There are many modern works of art, but there are also pieces by famous painters, so it was a good decision to go. I'm attaching one that I really like; you might think it's a photo, but it's a painting, take a closer look.

Amsterdam's Modern Art and Design museum gives equal emphasis to both parts, with many interesting and sometimes through provoking exhibits. Artist from may nations including the UK are represented in the permanent and rolling displays. That modern design is now nostalgic to those of us of a certain age is both comforting and worrying. Located in the Museum district, this is well worth adding to any to do list, especially if like us you buy an IAmsterdam card.

What a great museum, and this is coming from someone (me) that doesn't particularly appreciate art or museums. It's a must see when in Amsterdam!

I had the Iamamsterdam card and entrance to this museum was included. The price for entry is 22.50 so i will base my review on that price. There are permanent and temporary exhibitions on show at any one time in this museum so depends what s on when you go there. All the art is of the modern variety and will provoke debate. In general I found this to be an interesting museum. The artwork is well spaced out which means there are not crowds of people clamouring around the pieces trying to get a look. As well as artwork there is an emphasis on design in this museum. I spent around an hour in here and enjoyed it. The museum is a short walk from the museumplan tram stop.

One of the best museums I have ever been to. The information in english was very articulate and clear, the organization of the museum in general was not confusing even though the layout is huge. Monet and Picasso was a lovely surprise, but my favorite exhibits were the anti-war poster wall.

This was my first visit to this museum. I like that its focus is more modern and contemporary than the Van Gogh or the Rijksmuseum. The architecture is most interesting, and the complimentary audio guide is very helpful. I found the permanent collection to be so engrossing that I didn't find the time to visit any of the temporary exhibitions before it was closing time. If you have three museum days in Amsterdam, spend one of them here.

Beyond the Manosphere is an intriguing exhibition. Special work by Tetsumi Kudi, Naomi Kobayashi and Shinichi Tajiri. Beautiful painting by Ron Flu.

We were frankly very disappointed. Contemporary art is certainly subjective, but at this stage it is difficult to find it inspiring. When you walk around the halls, there's not really any consistency. Some of them are almost empty. There is pottery placed on vulgar metal shelves protected by a kind of Plexiglas... And what about the temporary exhibition? Empty room or almost empty... some uninteresting objects... A suitcase placed in the middle of nowhere (see photo). We sympathize for this artist who exhibited all her flower frames. Too bad because the interior of this museum is very good and the location interesting. Note that the young man at the reception -and who sold us the tickets- is very nice.
