Extremely overpriced. Paid 3900 rupees for a bus ride. Food was supposed to be included but we had to pay ourselves. There were no entrance fees anywhere.
Sahchi was nice and friendly, but wasn't familiar with the tour and relied a lot on the locals for details.
The village also didn't have many good shops to buy silk or souvenirs from.

We would like to clarify a few points. This was a group tour; we had clearly communicated to everyone the price as well as the fact that lunch is not included and needs to be paid by guests directly. The entrance charges are very much there and were levied at the Textile Park.

Too expensive
2/5 Stars – Beautiful Craftsmanship, Poor Organization
We were picked up right on time, which was a great start, and the craftsmanship we saw was genuinely impressive. Our guide was friendly and knowledgeable throughout the day. However, several things left us disappointed.
The artisans weaving linen work incredibly hard for what amounts to around $3 a day, yet all they receive from visitors and the company arranging the tour is a group photo. Given what tourists pay for these tours, it feels wrong that so little makes its way back to the people whose skill is the main attraction.
We were also told lunch was included, but this turned out to be a drop-off at a restaurant where we had to pay out of pocket. This is misleading and should be made clear when booking.
Finally, we were promised a 4PM return to the hotel, but didn’t get back until 6:45PM nearly three hours late, with no explanation.

We would like to clarify some of the points raised.
On lunch, this was clearly stated as not included at the time of booking in the payment link and in the itinerary shared with your group, which is why the rest of your group had already planned for it. We understand this may have been missed on your end, and we would be glad to make the itinerary language even clearer going forward so this does not happen again for future guests.
On the artisans, we want to clarify a few things. The weavers you visited are part of the Pochampally weaving community, which is supported by the Pochampally Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society along with state and national government programs, including the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India. Pochampally has been recognized by UNWTO as one of the Best Tourism Villages in the world, and its Ikat craft holds a Geographical Indication tag protecting its heritage and authenticity. These artisans are not employees of our company, and their livelihoods are supported through established cooperative and government channels, not through individual tour operators. Our tour fee covers vehicle, guide, and logistics costs for running the experience, and it is not within our scope to set or supplement artisan wages, which are governed independently of tour companies. What we do at our end is to create awareness of their craft and workmanship among our guests from around the world.
We do regret the delay in return, which was primarily due to unexpected traffic during our return.

A long day but beautiful silks and lovely people
Seeing the silk process was very interesting and meeting the crafts people was a highlight. The guide was professional and knowledgeable. In retrospect I would have opted out of having lunch on the way back as it put us in rush traffic ( but I guess traffic is also part of the experience 😊)

A Wonderful Tour with Shashi
I had a great tour with Shashi. She was knowledgeable, informative, and explained everything clearly with interesting stories. She was also warm, friendly, and a pleasure to spend the day with. The tour was well organized and enjoyable throughout. Highly recommended!
