Everything was on time and safe. Some confusion on bait and weather seemed difficult sp didn’t catch much at all but overall good experience

What an amazing day, Capt Jonathan and deck hand Cody were amazing, they made our day very special. Like bring with friends relaxed, fun and great conversations. Fish were just jumping on our lines. Great day guys and thank you for an awesome day.

Our trip with Captain Jonathan was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and great with the kids. We caught loads of fish and the kids had a fantastic time. Would highly recommend!

Worst chartered fishing trip experience. We’ve been on two other trips in Galveston that were fantastic, this trip was far from it. The communication was good from the front office about our trip but we were scheduled with Captain Doug and he is awful, don’t go fishing with him. He never once asked our names or had any interest in what we wanted out of the trip. He asked us what we wanted to fish for we told him, black drum, sheepshead, whatever we could catch. The only bait he brought was crab and when that wasn’t working hr had to borrow shrimp from someone else’s boat because he didn’t bring any. We got out to the jetty and it was super windy that day and we spent the majority of the time watching Captain Doug trying to set the anchor, which he was not successful. There were permanent anchors set into the rocks of the jetty, but he couldn’t tie off to them because he didn’t bring any rope, which again he had to borrow from another boat. There were probably 6-7 other boats out there that day and they had no issues with anchoring even in the wind. When he finally got lines in the water, he literally stood in the back of the boat with his back to us and watched the lines and smoked his cigarettes. Never once did he offer for us to have our own poles, my son had to finally ask if he could throw a line in and try because we weren’t catching anything. I was laying on the front bench because it was so morning. And he didn’t have enough poles for everyone, which was so ridiculous as he knew how many people would be on board. The few fish we caught, we were never asked if we wanted to keep them or told they were too big or too small so they they just went back to the ocean. We just took pics and put them back. The whole trip was a total joke, the company may be good to work with and maybe the other captains are better but Captain Doug is awful, I would not recommend, too pricey for the lousy experience.

Captain Derek is a fantastic guide and host! His main concern was that we had a trip to remember and that we caught a ton of BIG fish! Mission accomplished! He is extremely experienced and knows where the fish are! Will only choose Reel Men Charters if we come back. He taught my 12 year old how to really fish! Thanks Derek for a memorable awesome trip!

Had an absolute blast fishing with my good friends and Captain Derek. First time fishing together in 40 years (not even kidding) and Derek found a great spot and we caught so many!!! Reel Men is the Reel Deal!

Captain Jonathan and his Deckhand Cody were outstanding! We (12 year old son and I) booked the 4 hour Jetty excursion - it was awesome! Both men were very courteous and professional at all times, and displayed great knowledge of their craft. We went to a “special” spot where we caught one big Redfish, 3 black drums, a shrimp eel, a stingray, 2 speckled trout, and a Pompano! The Redfish + speckled trout allowed us to experience the “Texas Homerun”according to the Captain, which made my son and I both super proud!!! We had a blast and highly recommend booking with Reel Men! I’d ask for Capt. Jonathan! We’ll definitely come back and book another round with this crew. They went out of their way to ensure we had a great time and caught some awesome fish! I can’t describe the look on my son’s face when he reeled in that first catch (the Redfish) of 25-30 lbs. Additionally, both guys in the crew ensured our safety and followed all regulations, including the requirement for my son to wear a life jacket for the entire trip (which made my wife much more at ease). Thanks Reel Men, Capt. Jonathan, and Cody for an outstanding experience!
