We recently took the Lalbagh Tree Tour guided by unhurried.in, and it was an incredible experience. This is far more than just a walk in the park. The guide took us through a fascinating journey, from the Peninsular Gneiss rock formation (over 3 billion years old!) to the Kempegowda Tower that marks the city's ancient limits. We explored the garden’s centuries of curation and learned about the valuable contributions made by several horticulturists throughout history. It is truly a treasure trove of flora—often called the "Kew of India"—and 5 hours simply wasn't enough to soak in all the information. Pro Tips for Visitors: Breakfast Hack: Skip the restaurants outside! There are stalls inside the garden (HOPCOMS) selling delicious fresh cut fruits—this is the best way to have breakfast. Go Green: Remember, Lalbagh is a strictly plastic-free zone. Do not bring plastic bags or disposable bottles, or you may be fined/stopped at the gate. Start Early: Be there by 8:00 AM to cover the most ground before it gets too hot. Dining Warning: We made the mistake of going to MTR afterwards. They made us wait over 90 minutes for burnt coffee and oily dosa. I highly recommend skipping that and sticking to the fresh fruits inside!

We enjoyed two wonderful guided tours with tour guide Vidya: The 3-hour tour of Bangalore's beautiful botanical garden; and the 8 hour tour of Bangalore in a Day. Both tours were incredibly well prepared and guided and made us truly fall in love with this beautiful and fascinating city. Especially the Bangalore in a Day Tour was a masterclass in how to pack the maximum diversity in a day: from nature and markets to temples and culture, from gastronomy to politics, from ancient to medieval to modern times, the tour encompassed truly everything. Vidya was attentive to our interests and needs (coffee, buying a lock) at all times. She truly is the Queen tour guide of Bangalore (but of course way to humble to ever accept such a title). Thanks for two unforgettable days.

What a great experience! I very much enjoyed this tour with Vidya. And I learned a lot about the history of Lalbagh Park and the many different trees and flowers that are growing there. It’s beautiful!

Bengaluru or Bangalore, it's one city and one great trip through its colonial past. I am ashamed to say that despite calling this city my home between 2003 and 2010, much of this tour was charting new ground for me. That I didn't make more effort at the time was compensated by my excellent guide, Reha, who took us through Cubbon Park, via St Mark's Cathedral and then into Fraser Town. A super day out, and recommended. Cubbon Park is a joy, particularly early in the morning when the crowds are still asleep.

We had an exciting & wonderful morning walk at Lalbagh botanical Garden guided by Ms Vidya Nilakantan our heritage & nature guide based at Bangalore. Thank to my classmate Dr Prathima Radhakrishnan as she arranged this lovely morning walk. We were accompanied by our another classmate Ms Kumud Singh and we all have enjoyed this walk very much as Vidya could explain so nicely the historical and the background of this botanical Garden right from its early days to the present one. The knowledge she had was superb and we could partly pick up from her and were memerised with the information she gave about this Garden and other vital information about Bangalore and Karnataka. We highly recommend all the nature lovers to take up this lovely walk as you reach Bengaluru or you plan to be in Bengaluru next time.
