Ricardo and his driver picked us up on time, was friendly, and proceeded to take us on a magical tour through Tijuca, well-planned at every step to see various species. He was able to spot and identify over 40 species on our trip, providing insights into their habitats and behaviors. He was also knowledgeable about the flora. I can't recommend this tour highly enough!

Ricardo knows the park very well and has great skill in identifying bird calls, and recognizes them instantly. The forest is a complicated environment due to the lack of light and the lush vegetation. Even so, it is highly recommended. In addition, we would highlight his kindness and personal approachability. Congratulations!

Ricardo was amazing! We had such a good time. We got to see many species and started off with a toucan. We got to see a rare parrotlet and blue manakins. Ricardo, our tour guide, was very knowledgeable about the birds and spoke perfect English. My daughter is a bird nerd and learned so much from him. We will definitely do another tour with him.

Fabulous day with Ricardo. He picked us up promptly at 7am and drove us to Tijuca National Park. We stopped at a gas station where bird feeders attracted many local species such as the colorful tanagers. Beautiful forested Tijuca park was next with gorgeous views of Rio from the Chinese overlook. We finished at the Botanical Gardens where monkeys, kiskadees, striped heron, and toucans provided excellent photographic opportunities.

Ricardo is a very thoughtful and knowledgable guide. He's been birding for over 30 years and he knows the region around Rio very well. My wife and I saw 49 different species during our time with him. We heard a few more that wouldn't make an appearance, but it was still a great experience to try and find them. Another thing we loved about this tour is that it is private. It was just our group, my wife and I. Ricardo tailored the day to the things we enjoy doing and seeing. Oh, we also saw a couple of sloths! Another unexpected highlight. We highly recommend hanging out with Ricardo when you are in Rio.

Ric collected us from our hotel. It was an early start. We were soon on the edge of the National Park. Ric pointed out lots of birds and we both had great views. In the Park we saw the scenery and learnt some of the history. More birds including a black hawk-eagle circling over the tree canopy. A great half day tour.

Ric our guide picked us up from our hotel and wisked us off to the Tijuca National Park. On our half day tour we saw or heard 46 species. It was a great insight into the parks scenic places and wildlife. We saw something of the history of the place. A great success for us. Great value. Great guide.

Richardo did a great job. Although the birds didn't want to fully cooperate it was good. We saw a lot of nice places in Tijuca, great views and at the end Ricardo recommended good restaurant

We would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in seeing some incredible local birds. Our guide Ricardo was very knowledgeable and friendly: he made sure we could borrow binoculars, and took us to places where we were likely to see the birds we were keen on seeing. He also provided some great recommendations for other things to do during our stay in Rio as well. We learned a lot about the area and bird life, and saw some amazing sights. Highlights were seeing plenty of toucans and some male swallow-tailed manakins performing a mating dance. This tour is one of the highlights of our stay in Rio.

We had a very good morning out with Francisco, who helped us find 45 species using call recordings. Guide books are difficult to come by in Rio so birding with a guide helps a lot. Service was great including a pick up and drop off.
