My husband and I did this with my son and his girlfriend who both live in Cologne. It was great fun and we learned some cool little stories about the history of the city.

We thought it was very good 👍
We completed the scavenger hunt as a family and thought it was just great! It worked perfectly with the app and it was really a lot of fun. 😀

Unfortunately, the Pegelturm was obscured by scaffolding.

Great for short trips
Perfect if you want to get to know the city quickly and concisely. Great if you have little time, and we really liked that you can pause the whole thing!

Flexible, fun sightseeing
The self guide tour was a great way to explore the key attractions and the small ones that do not get much attention. But the best part was while the maps take you to the next location you walk through the alleys and explore much more. For us discovering where Cologne was invented was the highlight. Highly recommend

Walking treasure hunt with two young sons during 24hours in cologne
Really good value way of doing a self guided walking tour around cologne and made it more interesting for my two sons 9 and 11. We didn’t have enough time to do it all but because of the fair pricing that felt fine

Great Fun!
Really fun guided tour with little puzzles to solve along the way. Interesting facts about each place and the app was easy to use. You can do it in your own time and take breaks along the way. Would definitely recommend.

Don't do it when you are tired. Pick your date carefully.
There should have been a practice round or an example riddle. I thought the clue would lead me to the next stop on the walking tour. I didn't know until after giving up on the first clue that it was something about the first location. Also, the interface was not completely user friendly. There were some buttons that were not easy to use. There were also some locations that were harder to find. There should be an option to change fe the date of the original booking. I was so tired on the day of the event that I only did it to not waste the money I paid. It would have been more fun if I had not been tired and been more willing to walk a longer distance to the last few places.

Thank you for your honest feedback! We're sorry the setup wasn't clear from the start — your suggestion of a practice round or example riddle is a genuinely good one and we'll pass it to our team. Good news: your ticket isn't tied to a fixed date, so you can pause and continue whenever suits you better. We'd have been happy to explain that in real time via worldcitytrail.com/chat. We hope to welcome you on a fresher day in another city! 🗺️
