Great boat trip, great crew, great place to visit if you like history. Tour guide named Hollywood was outstanding.

2 hour peaceful ferry boat ride to Fort Jefferson. We then do the 30 minutes fort tour and spent another 30 minutes walking along the top of the fort. We then got snorkeling gear and snorkeled at the piers on the north post. We then swam around the outside of the fort and hit the piers in the south beach. There were a ton of fish at both sets of piers. I highly recommend snorkeling and swimming out to the old piers on both beaches. Do the short tour as it is very informative. The fort is incredible and unbelievable to see and the snorkeling is great and I recommend this as A MUST DO in Key Wedt

Wife was ill and could not go, no refund possible which is ridiculous when ill. Trip itself great and crew great. Lunch sandwiches poor quality, little meat, mostly bread. Should have parking available, as rates in Key West exorbitant.

Been on list for long time. So glad we went on trip! Reservations online easy, check in was fast, and the Ferry nicely set up and comfortable. Pleased to be served a nice breakfast and box lunch. Hollywood, our guide this day, was fantastic. Both good and useless trivia on way over and back, kept everyone entertained. His 30 min talking guide at Fort was very informative and lively. Must participate! Fort Jefferson a marvel of engineering and worth the 2+ hour ride out. No other Fort like this in USA. Ride over and back, smooth and fast. All of the crew courteous and professional. Bonus of great snorkeling on 2 beaches to cool off. Highly recommend this trip!

The trip to the Dry Tortugas was just as advertised. The boat was comfortable and the crew was efficient and courteous. I recommend you bring an activity for the 2.5 hour ride to and from the park. Breakfast and lunch were provided, with snacks were available for purchase. The fort was impressive and the snorkeling was great. We saw a good variety of fish on the reef. The time spent at the park was just right.

What a trip!! We took the Yankee Freedom ferry over to the Dry Tortugas. Our tour guide, Hollywood, was the best!! He shared his wealth of knowledge about the land markings we saw as we traveled 70 miles off-shore, the sea life we saw off the sides of the boat and all the best parts of the Dry Tortugas. We visited Fort Jefferson, snorkeled in the beautiful blue waters and had Jersey Mike's sub, chips and drink provided by the Yankee Freedom crew. We had about 4 hours to do our own thing on the island before time for the return trip to Key West!! Once in a lifetime experience...that I would do again.

To get to the Dry Tortugas, you can either take the boat or the plane. During this excursion, we had air conditioning, food (nothing exceptional but more than enough), and seats that were not unpleasant. More than enough! And the bonus: the possibility of borrowing diving equipment on the island.

Fort was VERY interesting and I glad I visited. Only issue was with the ferry on the return trip. MANY of the people seated in the inside air-conditioned areas were using seats for their luggage or simply putting their feet on them and taking up space for people who needed it. There were several elderly and very young children who had to sit in the scorching sun and heat outside so that those inside could play cards or have extra space. I'm disappointed that the staff did nothing to remedy the situation even though they say not to use the seats for luggage.

This was such a wonderful experience. There is plenty of parking at the garage near the ferry, it is about 48$ for the entire day so be aware of that. You will want to follow their instructions and print and complete your paperwork before arriving. Most people don't do this and have to go stand off to the side and complete it there, causing a backlog of people in the waiting area. The earlier in the line you are the earlier your boarding pass is- we were able to get in on the first boarding group (called up in groups of 25). There are cabins that are air conditioned or you can sit on the deck. You will want to bring water bottles, sunscreen and towels for sure. There are places on board to refill your water bottle and you can return to the ship when it is docked to refill again. They provide you with breakfast (cereal, fruit, bagels, OJ and coffee) on the trip out to the island and while there you get a sub, chips, cookie and soft drink. There are dry changing stations on the island and you can use the toilet on the ship as there are none on the island. While at the fort we chose to listen to the first 20 minute speech about the history of it and then went on the following hour long tour. It was very interesting and we enjoyed it. There was still plenty of time to snorkle and have lunch after. If you have kids they can do the Junior Ranger program by completing a packet onboard and turning it in to the gift shop to receive a pin and be sworn in as Junior Ranger. It's a cute program to do. Snorkeling was not bad- the water was pretty clear on the day we went. Saw a large variety of fish and we used their equipment so it was nice to not have to haul it all back and forth.
