A full evening experience. Starting at the market with a guided tour in all the wonderful food and spices. Thereafter driven back to their kitchen which is placed the most wonderful place next to a small lake. We were guided through 3 wonderful dishes with the best ingredients. Topped up with several Cambodian cocktails or mocktails as we wished. Nicest and skilled people with an eager to make our time the best🫶
Was such a lovely spot, with a beautiful water outlook. Everybody was lovely, very professional and great food that was easy to prepare and make. Very tasty and not too spicy. A very enjoyable evening and recipes to take home to recreate.
We had a wonderful experience. The team was incredibly kind, helpful, and professional, and the food was delicious. Highly recommended!
Our evening cooking class with Sofia and her team was a true highlight of our time in Cambodia. We first walked together through the market to learn more about Khmer foods and daily life. We next went to their beautiful kitchen space overlooking a turtle pond. In our class Sofia taught us about several typical Khmer ingredients, and accommodated both vegetarian modifications as well as help making the meal for our 10 year old. We also made some delicious cocktails to complement our meal! After eating our delicious salad, dinner, and dessert, we were gifted a recipe book with the recipes we made and more for us to try at home. Absolutely must do!
We prepared three traditional dishes that surpassed every other meal we had in Cambodia. The hosting duo were both professional and knowledgeable, sharing rich insights into the local culture Our evening cooking class was easily the best meal we had during our entire stay. It kicked off with an authentic local market tour before moving to a beautiful, immaculate outdoor kitchen right on a lake. The two hosts were incredibly friendly and clearly experts in Cambodian cuisine. My son and I dont drink do they made us delicious mocktails using fresh orange, ginger, and mint. The three local dishes were outstanding; the flavors were better than anything we found in the restaurants. If you want to experience some real Cambodia through its food, this is a must.
My husband and I had a wonderful time at this cooking class. Sofia walked us around the local market to see the local produce, after we then came to a lovely little spot by the water to begin our class. Sofia and Prey explained everything to us in detail. We both really enjoyed the food, cocktails and learning about Cambodian culture and cuisine. Thank you to the team!
Our group (couple + friend) thoroughly enjoyed the evening cooking class. The instructors were detailed and fun (also hotel chef for many years). The site was quite yet beautiful next to the lake. Definitely will visit their class again when we are back in Siem Reap!
I am not much of a cook so I was a little suspicious...but after the experience (Cambodia cooking class) I can only describe it as excellent, fun, welcoming...simply something I recommend doing and that I can only recommend with them because I find it difficult to overcome their attention, their care to detail and their permanent commitment to give us the best experience. We start by going around the local market knowing some of the typical ingredients, with fun explanations of their use, their name, their origin... Then, in excellent facilities and beautiful surroundings we started, the cooking class, which he described as very fun, pleasant and in which at all times we were made to feel at home. In addition we interspersed the preparation of a couple of very rich cocktails and in whose preparation we also had very fun moments. And finally, we dined our own creations (with permission from our always attentive hosts who always gave us a hand and gave a beautiful presentation to the dishes) in that unbeatable environment. Really, you have to try it!
Upon pick up at our hotel and after about 10 minute drive to a local market we were met by our host Sophia who took us around the market explaining which vegetables were local how they tasted, which were imported either due to lack of quantity produced in Cambodia or the climate not being suitable. After purchasing some of-the fresh salad and vegetables needed we proceeded to our cookery kitchen. The venue was excellent very clean and overlooking the lake, there was even mosquito repellent available. We were given fruit snacks and a welcome drink along with Water and then Sophia introduced our chef Priah. Sophia went through all the ingredients for each dish and explained why/how they complimented each other taste wise. Priah then took us step-by-step through all three courses and explained what we needed to do for each one starting with how to chop each ingredient what and how to mix, how long to cook and what ingredient to add at each point. After the second course, Sophia took us over to the cocktail station where we made our first cocktail, there was no scrimping with the ingredients or the liquor and they were delicious. We then continued to make our third course, then a second cocktail before heading to the veranda to be seated at our table before being served all three courses & invited to make more cocktails. The food was delicious& the entire experience was one of the best with very clear instructions and excellent facilities. You left with a full stomach, there was so much food we couldn’t finish& a recipe book which covered the courses we made along with a selection of others which we presume they offer from time to time. If you are reading this review, don’t hesitate to book you will not be disappointed. A great big thanks to everybody involved in the evening.
We had a great time with our family (with our teenagers) during our stay in Siem Reap. Shopping at the local market, then cooking classes with a chef, cocktail making, and dinner in a beautiful setting. We can only recommend!@
