The collection from the hotel by the transfer taxi was on time & removed one point to think about. Hiking to the top of Sigiriya Rock was a great experience & something you must do. You will be met by guides on arrival, they will offer a service but they were expensive & personally not something we felt necessary. It is a challenging climb if you are not in reasonable health, but there are exit points on the way if you choose to go no further up the rock. The village experience is a must do, you see some areas of how life was in Sri Lanka, probably not that long ago & the money for this trip goes to supporting the locals. The safari was good but sadly we didn't see any elephants in the reserve, but the drivers all talk to one another & found some outside the reserve for us to see. We felt the number of jeeps in the park was slightly distressing as it felt a bit like a procession of vehicles bounty hunting. I would not want to finish on a negative as the whole day was great.
