スリランカの歴史的な街ポロンナルワにあるコーデュラ国立公園は、旅行者が自然の生息地で雄大なゾウを見つける機会が豊富にあります。 ゾウに加えて、サンバーシカ、スリランカの軸のシカ、シボレー、イノシシ、アジアのヘラサギ、コガネムシ、コウノトリ、コウノトリが公園でよく見られます。これらとは別に、森の中のヒョウやナマケグマを垣間見ることはほとんどできませんでした。 小さなトレイルに沿ってコーデュラ国立公園の常緑の森をでこぼこに乗るのは素晴らしい冒険であり、野生生物愛好家は「NO」とは言えません。公園の野生生物の生命線であるコードラ貯水池は、近くのミンネリヤ、ワスガムワ、ソマワティヤ国立公園からの乾季に象の群れを引き付けます。

We had booked a Safari at KALAWEWA National Park. But the tour operator changed that to Kaudulla National Park as the herd of elephants had moved from Kalawewa to Kaudulla. Its a wonderful experience to see elephants in their natural habitat - bathing, uprooting grass with their feet and eating, keeping the young ones within the herd, splashing water with their trunks etc etc. Other than elephants, you can spot a wide variety of terns and cranes and deers and crocodiles and birds.
