Classificada como Monumento Nacional, é também conhecida por Igreja de Sta. Maria Maior. Edificada após a reconquista da cidade aos mouros, em 1147, foi construída sobre uma antiga mesquita muçulmana, tendo adoptado um esquema idêntico ao da Sé de Coimbra, com 3 naves, trifório sobre as naves laterais, transepto saliente e cabeceira tripartida.
Do Miradouro das Portas do Sol, podemos observar a Igreja de São Vicente de Fora e todo o Bairro típico de Alfama que se estende por diversas ruas estreitas e sinuosas até ao Rio Tejo. É um espaço tipo varanda com uma vista magnífica sobre a cidade de Lisboa, na sua zona oriental combina na perfeição com a vista sobre o Rio Tejo.
Já foi um dos maiores segredos da cidade, mas tem vindo a ser descoberto por guias turísticos e por casais de namorados. Oferece uma vista panorâmica de Lisboa, que também é observada por uma pequena imagem da Virgem que dá o nome ao miradouro. Por trás da imagem está uma pequena capela do século XVIII, que se encontra quase sempre fechada. Conta uma lenda antiga que as grávidas que se sentassem na cadeira de pedra no interior teriam os partos facilitados. Este é um dos pontos mais altos da cidade, por isso avistam-se vários monumentos, identificados num painel de azulejos.

O Panteão Nacional, situado na zona histórica de Santa Clara, ocupa o edifício originalmente destinado para igreja de Santa Engrácia, acolhendo os túmulos de grandes vultos da história portuguesa. XVIの2ªmetade do século XVI, o edifício foi totalmente reconstruído em finais de Seiscentos pelo arquiteto João Antunes; embora nunca chegasse abrir ao culto, conserva, sob a cúpula moderna, o espaço majestoso da nave, animada pela decoração de mármores coloridos, característica da arquitetura barroca portuguesa. Elemento referencial no perfil da cidade e oferecendo pontos de vista privilegiados sobre a zona histórica da cidade e sobre o rio Tejo, está classificado como Monumento Nacional. Na sua proximidade realiza-se semanalmente, às 3ªas feiras e Sábados, a tradicional Feira da Ladra.

Our Tuk Tuk ride with Philip (Flip) was very enjoyable. We were able to see most of the highlights of the city, including a great view from a picturesque overlook at the top of the mountain. Philip was very knowledgeable about his city. He spoke several languages. I would highly recommend his tour!
Superb visit with Paulo, who is a great lover of his city and shared his passion with us. He has impressive knowledge and culture. I did not notice the three hours passing as it was so interesting and rich in comments and anecdotes. The day you must visit Lisbon. Do not hesitate to ask Paulo; you will truly not be disappointed.
Pedro was an amazing and knowledgeable guide for our 4 hour tour. He started by letting us choose the areas of Lisbon that we wanted to focus on for our tour and he provided lots (but not too much) information and history. Pedro even customized our tour to include a stop at a gluten free bakery so I could try a gluten free version of the pastel de nata. He also guided us to a restaurant that serves a gluten free version of a traditional Portuguese dinner at the end of our tour.

Our driver, Pedro, was awesome. He spoke great english and was very helpful in explaining the sights of our trip. Pedro took time to explain the history between old and new Lisbon, which gave us a great understanding of how and why Lisbon is today. Pedro was gracious enough to customize our trip to include a Gluten Free deli and bakery and a resturant we wanted to visit while in Lisbon. The resturant was in a very localized location that we probably would have had trouble finding, so Pedro escorted and guided us on foot to it. I would always recommend Pedro as a Tuk Tuk guide to anyone who asks.
