Weather in the Poás Volcano area can change quickly due to the altitude and cloud forest conditions, and sometimes visibility depends entirely on the day’s weather. Even so, the surrounding landscapes and the other stops usually make the experience worthwhile. Regarding the start time, the tour itself begins at approximately 6:30 a.m., but hotel pickups may start earlier depending on the location of each traveler and the route of the vehicle. Conservation and education are an important part of the experience. The stop for local strawberries is a common short break in the region, as that area is well known in Costa Rica for strawberry farms due to the cooler mountain climate.
