Overall we enjoyed our trip to Luxor, particularly visiting the Karnak Temple and the Valley of the Kings. Our guide for the day was very knowledgable and funny and she really made the trip. On the downside of the trip we wish we could have had more time at Karnak to explore. After the Karnak visit we seemed to have a long period of ‘wasted time’. We were taken to a spice house (with intention of a toilet break) but had I known this was on the itinerary I would not have booked. I am very sensitive to smells and consequently ended up with a migraine which in the 40+ degree heat was awful. Furthermore, we were offered an additional boat trip on the Nile on the day for which we paid extra. This was advertised as optional however it really was not as we were all instructed to get off the bus and go to the boat. I absolutely do not mind if these things are advertised up front or even paying extra if on original cost but this felt very pushy and sneaky to have done it in this way. We then went for lunch which was very poor. My partner who will eat anything even struggled to find something suitable. The visit to the Valley of the Kings was fantastic and we had paid extra to go in Rameses tomb which I would recommended. I’ve previously been and paid for Tutenkahmen’s tomb but would not recommend as nowhere near as impressive as others. We also had a photo stop at the Colossus of Memnon and on the Hepchetsu’s temple both which were great to see. All in all the trip was good but I would have preferred longer at the sites, no spice house and the boat ride to have been advertised more clearly beforehand.

The day starts very early... but there is a 5-hour drive in a brand-new minibus. We chose the option to cross the Nile on a small boat and it was very nice. The guide spoke French very well and was very interesting. The lunch (buffet) at a restaurant is decent and the drinks are not too expensive (1 or 2 €, water, soda, wine). The Karnak Temple is worth seeing and the tombs are very beautiful. We had chosen the option when booking to see the one of Ramses V and VI and it is essential because it is the most beautiful and there is no one there (people do not take the option!). We regretted not paying on-site to see the one of Tutankhamun (you cannot take both options when booking), there is plenty of time (the visit to the tomb lasts 10/15 min) and the rest of the group waits outside during that time... It is very hot in the Valley of the Kings but there are several bottles of cold water in the bus. Back to the hotel at 8:00 PM after a very full day, but it is worth it!

It was a great tour. Our guide was very kind and informative. They took us from our hotel. Everything was on time. Lunch can be better and you should bring 10 euros per person for boat trip with you.

The tour was for 7. We were picked up from the hotel and the vehicle that accompanied us throughout our trip was air-conditioned and comfortable. The cold water service throughout the vehicle was unlimited. Our guide in Luxorda, Ahmed, was a very friendly and helpful guide. Thanks to our guide, Ahmed, who ran in line at all the museums, we’ve gotten the ticket work done. And I think you’re very excited about the history of the area. After the first stop is the temple of Karnak, I recommend a Nile boat tour (optional), which is good after spending some time in the warm weather and a small city tour. Our guide’s little gestures have made us very happy throughout the trip, and we thank our guide Ahmed again.

Heuda was our french guide the entire day! Pick up time was 4:15am and we were there around 10am. We had a small group and had a small van with air conditioning and unlimited bottle of water for free (necessary as it was 45° when we went there) Our guide was with us the whole time and gave us all the necessary information about the different temples and without being too much. We had some free time to take pictures and to visit by ourselves, without the group which was good as well. However, we paid in advance all the tickets to go a bit faster but had to wait for the others who did not. We also did a boat tour on the Nil. At first it was an option that we did not pick but we did not have a choice at the end and had to do it as the whole group wanted to.... so we paid an extra 10€ (but it was worth it)! At the end, Heuda offered us ice cream and then we went back to the hotel! It was really worth it, I truly recommend it to everyone!

We had the chance to visit the Temple of Karnak, the Colossuses of Memnon, the Valley of the Kings with the visit of 3 tombs included and the optional Tomb of Tutankhamun, the Temple of Hatshepsut, we took full eyes. From Hurghada we made the journey in an air-conditioned minibus with other very friendly French! The 10h round trip bus scared us a little at first but I can assure you it's worth it. Upon arrival we met our Guide Shadia, an adorable lady who told us the history of Egypt with passion during the tours, a big thank you to her! Thanks also to Asmaa who was available on whatsapp throughout the activity in case of problems (there were none of course). A boat trip on the Nile is possible with an extra 10€ per person but I recommend it, it is really nice. We ate at the restaurant “Crocodile” in Luxor at noon, it’s not incredible but it’s good to gain strength before visiting the Valley of the Kings. We also visited a stone object factory where we could buy souvenirs (don’t hesitate to negotiate). We had bottles of fresh water throughout the day and fortunately we got very hot, so prepare a hat and your sunscreen! 10/10 ! Anaïs & Pierre
