For travellers who want to get the best out of Alexandria, we usually recommend visiting early in the itinerary—when the senses are fresh and the slower, Mediterranean rhythm feels relaxing rather than “less.” We also love tailoring the day around personal interests so the city shines through your lens: History & culture: the Roman Amphitheatre, the Catacombs, the Citadel, and a guided walk through old neighbourhoods. Sea & leisure: corniche cafés, harbour views, Montaza gardens, and great local seafood. Nearby alternatives (if you prefer something different): a focused heritage day to El-Alamein (war museum and memorials), or a countryside-and-crafts spin to Rosetta (Rashid) with Ottoman-era houses and local markets.
