We had a fantastic time. This tour was exactly what we were hoping for and delivered on everything it promised. The food was excellent, but what really made it special was getting to spend the evening with a local family and experience a side of Cairo we never would have seen otherwise. Our host was friendly, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. We learned a ton about the food, culture, and everyday life in Egypt, and never felt like we were just being rushed from one stop to the next. I'd absolutely recommend this to anyone visiting Cairo. If you want an authentic experience instead of just another tourist activity, this is it.

This is the best tour you can take in Cairo. Ahmed was vey kind, friendly, and knowledgeable about the city and Egypt. He was extremely accommodating and obviously does this because he believes in the mission. The tour was a great way to see the local side of the city that we likely otherwise wouldn't have been able to, and we learned more about Egyptian culture on this tour than we did in our whole time in Cairo. This should be #1 on your list of things to do in Cairo!

This was a great tour that allows you to enjoy the culture. If you love food, this is the tour for you. Well worth the value.

Ahmet was an amazing host! He tailored the stops to our adventurous palate, gave us a tour of old Cairo and was an amazing conversation partner — answering all of our questions about Egyptian and Muslim culture. Even after the tour ended, he was responsive and gave us some amazing local shopping suggestions that completed our stay in Cairo as a cherry on top!

This street food tour was incredible!!! It’s a highlight of my trip! Our guide was hospitable, kind, knowledgeable, and helped us to feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. I would have never tried the places we went to alone. The Egyptian falafel was a favorite stop! I highly recommend this tour and would go on it again in a heartbeat.

We couldn’t recommend this tour highly enough. It was so enjoyable to spend time with Ahmed and to be introduced to Egyptian culture and food. He was so passionate about the food that we tasted and took great joy in our experiencing new foods. This was an area of Cairo that we’d never have explored without a guide who walked us through the area, explaining the food as we went. Ahmed is so experienced in receiving travellers from all kinds of cultures and countries that sets you at ease from the beginning. More food than we could possibly eat! 😂 And well worth the money and time. If we had more time in Cairo we might have returned for a cooking class or a chance to explore the hidden gems of Cairo.

I cannot say enough good things about Ahmed and his family and the way they lead this tour. First piece of advice - come HUNGRY. You are basically getting a full meal at every stop. And all the food is delicious. Ahmed and his family introduce you to truly local gems - you have the chance to meet the people behind the magic, step into their kitchens, and savor the local cuisine. Each stop offers something new and Ahmed has curated a fun and unforgettable experience. A highlight of our trip.
