My wife and I booked the Kuala Lumpur International Airport Layover Tour (17 stops) through Viator, and unfortunately, this was one of the worst tour experiences we’ve ever had. From the beginning, the driver was rude, impatient, and difficult to communicate with due to very limited English. There was no explanation of the itinerary, and every question we asked was met with anger or raised voices. At no point were we disrespectful; we were simply trying to understand what the tour included. Several attractions were closed for construction, and no alternatives or adjustments were offered. The experience at each stop felt rushed, as if the goal was simply to take a quick photo and move on, rather than actually explore or appreciate the attraction. It became clear he had another appointment at 3–3:30 PM and was more concerned about finishing early than delivering the full tour we paid for. Safety was a major concern: The driver repeatedly drove far above the speed limit, reaching over 114 km/h at one point. He was watching videos on his phone while driving, switching between YouTube channels, and steering with one hand. He gave confusing instructions while driving, instead of stopping safely to communicate. The most disturbing part of the experience: When we asked normal questions about the stops, the driver became aggressive and raised his voice. He called his boss, who then yelled and threatened us over the phone, falsely claiming we had been disrespectful. Using Google Translate, we discovered they were discussing the driver’s personal appointment and his frustration about not wanting the tour to last the full advertised duration. We remained calm and respectful throughout the entire tour. The intimidation, unsafe driving, and unprofessional behavior made the experience extremely stressful and disappointing. This was not the 17-stop private tour we paid for, and it certainly did not feel safe. For context, I am not a novice traveler. I have over 20 years of experience in the travel industry and have traveled extensively around the world. I thought I was fully prepared for this tour, but what we experienced was beyond anything I’ve ever encountered. I cannot recommend this tour or this operator. Viator should review this provider immediately for safety and professionalism.

I recently booked a tour through Viator but had to cancel at the last minute due to my flight being unexpectedly cancelled due to weather. Despite notifying the company immediately, I was still charged the full amount. Viator and the tour operator refused to offer a refund or help me reschedule, citing their policy, which does not accommodate last-minute cancellations caused by airline issues. I found there was no accountability or flexibility from either Viator or the tour management, leaving me disappointed with their customer service and unwilling to recommend their services to others. Future travelers should be aware that if your plans change suddenly due to circumstances outside your control, you may not receive any support or refund from this provider

This is the best way to see Kuala Lumpur when pressed for time. We were able to explore and enjoy the major sights of the city in a day. Our guide Mr Nagen was already waiting for us at the airport when we arrived. He was friendly, patient and knowledgeable. He took pride in his work and eagerly showed us his homeland. He and his boss even made adjustments for us and took us to a chocolate factory that we wanted to visit. After seeing the attractions, we were promptly taken back to the airport and that made for a stress-free and enjoyable day trip.

12hr Layover and 1st time in Kuala Lumpar, Nagen our tour guide was genuinely the best host from pick up to drop off, Great communication and very informative. He gave us time to sample food and drinks from most spots. We’ll definitely be planning our next holiday here to experience more of Malaysia.

Great tour guide who was informative and friendly. Our flight in KL got delayed and he wait for 2 hours outside the airport for us to arrive.

Although our initial plan was cut very short due to our airline changing their flight times, the driver was very accommodating and took us around to as many places as possible within the short (4hr) time frame that we had in K.L. We loved it and will definitely be back!

At the stopover of our KLM flight to Jakarta we had to get off the plane here because it had to be cleaned. A busy pier and unclear clues. Also almost no facilities like a place where you can buy drinks or similar. The best thing was to go straight back to the waiting area where there was no toilet.

We had a 13+ hr layover in KL & decided to book this one to take a quick glimpse of the city. We were received and dropped from & to airport on time. Our driver/guide Mr Richard was extremely professional and knowledgable. He went above and beyond the written itinerary to make sure we visited as many places as we could in oir limited time. He also guided us with some really good trivia and hostory about all the places. Really want to appreciate him & the booking agency for a really memorable tour.

Truthfully - Richard my driver made the 8 hrs so memorable and so much better! He went above and beyond! I had booked 4 hrs initially for KL city tour and when I mentiioned I had extra time - Richard suggested a few more ideas! The Batu Caves visit if you are in KL is a must I think! I felt that I was being shown all the sites by a friend rather than a driver - which made my whole experience 10 times better! Such a great day - and into the nught - tour. So much to see! I hope Richard's employer realises how exceptional he is and that he is definitely a keeper!! Thank you Ricgard for a showing me all the great sites and making it so memorable!

Richard was a very helpful guide. We were able to see the main spots of Kuala Lumpur in our short visit to the city and we really loved it. Just make sure to have enough time because the traffic could be sometimes a little messy.
