A total disappointment. The trees have vanished and houses have come up on either side of the river banks. There is no charm left in Alleppy backwaters and staying in the boat for the night is a bad option.

Once in a lifetime you should experience the backwaters of Kerala and yes the house boat is a must. Especially the traditional food served thee is yumm
