マスカットからのシュノーケリング旅行

We booked a snorkeling trip for our cruise port stop, but had second thoughts because we expected the water and weather to be cool. They let us switch to a city tour which was excellent, as was our tour guide. I deducted a star because they don't provide thin wetsuits for snorkeling or warn us about the temperatures for that time of year (maybe they thought we were hardier than that). I do appreciate that they let us take a city tour instead which was very nice. By this point on our cruise we had also visited quite a few arab markets so we appreciated the guide's flexibility in changing up the itinerary at the end and we went to an authentic local place to eat and chat more about the local culture and customs. Overall we enjoyed our tour and tour guide and would use them again.

After the reviews we read, we made sure to call a day in advance to ensure pick up time and location. They arrived promptly on time, and took us from our hotel to the boat pick up destination. The boat was not packed with other people, which ensured a nice calming trip, and allowed people their leisure time to see the sea life. It was amazing and we saw a lot of sea turtles and fish! Would recommend for those visiting! We only snorkeled in one area, but because of all the diversity, it was worth it for a quick morning trip.

Booked this trip via Amex Travel / Viator. Having arrived here in Muscat this morning on a cruise ship we were immensely looking forward to this trip. However, we are now back on board said ship, because having stood for 30 minutes outside the port gate surrounded by baying locals, Oman Day Tours failed to show up!  I eventually called them on the number provided, only to be told they had cancelled our trip, due to inclement weather and seas! I can tell you there is not a cloud in the sky here, it must be over 80°, and the sea is as flat as the harbour tarmac! I asked them why i wasn't informed of the cancellation, and they told me they didnt have my contact details because i had booked through tripadvisor! I then asked why they didnt then simply send someone down to the port gate to inform me, rather than leave us standing in the baking heat? Their answer was we could have a full refund and then they hung up! I am furious. The pick up time was to be 11.30am it is now after lunch, the ship sails soon and we have now lost our whole day in Muscat. Appalling service from Oman Day Tours, i have now emailed Amex Travel for a full and proper explanation.
