We were looking at ways to get from Budapest to Krakow, there was rail, fly or what I found on the internet, Hire a Driver. The latter sounded interesting so I checked the reviews, everything seemed like this trip should be interesting. Estimated time 6hrs, quicker than rail and flying. Good communication between the company and myself gave me confidence. Our driver was exactly on time, 9am, for pickup at our hotel, a very pleasant chap, I can’t remember his name, but this was the start of a great day. The drivers commentary on local areas and history was very informative, this was his stomping grounds and he was proud to show us where he was born, raised and grew up. This mode of transport allowed us to see way more of Hungry and Poland than the other two modes, and our forward travel was flexible after Krakow. It’s always good to allow a few spare days here and there for those unexpected places you never thought of, too late if your schedule is too tight. All too soon and we arrived at Krakow right at our hotel, suitcases unloaded, cash payment to driver plus a tip and he was gone. Now to explore with four days in Krakow, wow what a fascinating place. We highly recommend this company as we had a great day with real people and places away from the crazy tourist tail.
