Very nice trip but a litle long (12 hours). Profesional and kind guide. The restaurant chouse for lunch mediocre.Maybe it will be worth more time for Tasco.
They will have an experience with good historical data content about the two cities. Good opportunity to purchase silver jewelry. Transportation was fine but could be improved. You have to be prepared to walk the streets of Taxco because they are very steep. The place for lunch with good value for money.
This was overall a great tour. My entire vacation was based in Mexico City, so it was a really nice change of pace to get out of the city center and see some of the countryside and two really beautiful small towns. Pre-tour communication from Luis to set up the pick-up point and let me know what to expect was top-notch. Our tour guide Julio was excellent too. He was knowledgeable, personable, and competent. He skillfully kept the group together and the tour running on schedule. He imparted all information in Spanish and in English, as there were four English-only speakers in the group, including myself. The restaurant we were taken to for lunch had a limited menu of only a few items, but the hillside views of Taxco were nothing short of enchanting. The one sour note for me involves the silver workshop and store we visited. The presentation was brief but interesting/informative, and the traditional drink they gave us was refreshing and delicious. I love silver jewelry and I've wanted to visit Taxco for literally decades. I saved up to buy something nice. The necklace I bought for $300 was gone less than a day later. The clasp let go somewhere and I don't know who is wearing and enjoying it now, but it's not me. Nor was I able to go out and buy something else to replace it before leaving Mexico. I'm a preschool teacher. I'm not wealthy. Once the money was spent, it was spent. I have other nice souvenirs: a beautiful embroidered table runner, a jaguar whistle with which to annoy my husband and dog, and a few other fun and colorful odds and ends. But the $300 I saved in order to spend on "big-ticket" souvenir, I might has well have lit on fire and burned to cinders. For that price, a clasp should not fail within 24 hours. It's excruciatingly disappointing. So here's my advice: go on the tour. If you have Luis preparing you and Julio guiding you, you're in great hands and will have a lovely time. You'll see beautiful things, and have an opportunity to buy beautiful things. But DO NOT do your silver shopping at the "workshop" they take you to. Or if you feel you must, buy something inexpensive and that does not rely on a clasp in order to stay on your body, such as earrings or a ring. Later on, after lunch, you get free time in the town center, and there are silver shops everywhere. Do your big-ticket silver shopping there instead.
Dear Customer Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed and thoughtful review. We are truly pleased to read that you enjoyed the overall experience and that your time outside Mexico City, visiting **Taxco and Cuernavaca**, was a refreshing and memorable part of your trip. We sincerely appreciate your kind words about the pre-tour communication with Luis and the excellent guiding provided by Julio. Feedback like this is very meaningful for our team at Interliv Travel. At the same time, we are genuinely sorry to hear about your experience with the silver necklace purchased at the workshop. We loved going to Cuernavaca & Taxco for the day! We had a great tour guide, driver and a very comfortable van with A/C!

It was a really fun trip, Dante was a great guide and super fun to talk to. The only reason I'm not leaving a 5 is that I think, if someone shows up sick (coughing fits, sneezing, etc) they should be required to wear a mask if they want to take the trip in such a small van without putting the rest of the group at risk.
Dear Customer Thank you so much for joining The Magical Colonial Towns of Taxco and Cuernavaca with Interliv Travel! We’re very glad to hear you had a fun trip and that Dante made your experience enjoyable—he truly is a fantastic guide. We also appreciate you sharing your feedback regarding fellow passengers’ health conditions. Your comment is completely valid, and we take it seriously. We will reinforce our guidelines to ensure that any guest showing symptoms—such as coughing or sneezing—wears a mask to protect the comfort and well-being of the entire group, especially in small-van settings. Thank you again for choosing Interliv Travel. We hope to welcome you back for another adventure soon! Have a wonderful trip home Lots of greetings from Abigail ALva
Well organised , guide knew his material and there was plenty of time to do my own thing. As I was staying far from the pick up point the company organised a location that was better suited to me

Great trip, fun, secure, informative. If you are into silver, the shop they take you to is amazing. The only thing would be having more lunch options. Would recommend it.

Long story short - book yourselves 2 days to explore these places and use local transportation, the tour is not worth it. This is advertised as a 10h tour, don't be fooled - we spent an hour picking people up all around CDMX (other tours only offer 1-2 pickup spots, clearly this would be way more efficient), I was the first pickup so I had a 12 hour day! We also waited for 45 mins for late people following our free time, we ended up leaving them thank goodness, but they need to make that call way sooner. They showed up 70 minutes late and somehow arranged a ride home anyways, but we all lost that time and had to travel between cities at night as a result, which is not recommended for security reasons. It seemed like I was the only person who wasn't picked up at my hotel as well which was annoying. I was also the last to be dropped off, even after the tour guide, despite that the driver didn't speak English. I was hoping to be dropped at my hotel but that didn't happen despite everyone else seemingly getting dropped off at theirs. Thank goodness a few people stayed behind or I would have jumped out and cabbed home. This tour is advertised as English, so I'm not sure why the majority of people only spoke Spanish. Other companies separate people by English or Spanish, we had a bilingual tour guide but everyone took twice as long because of this. The one nice thing I had to say was the tour guide was knowledgable and was kind to help people with pictures, etc. Don't buy your silver at the first store, you will have free time to walk around. I had to wait forever for people to be done their shopping there, I should have just gone off on my own at that point to actually allow enough time to see the museums or other points of interest. Hecho a Mano is the only store that seems to have anything different and seems actually handmade. Everything else you will see the same thing over and over, it's a bit odd and hard to believe everything is made in city. Either way, silver is cheap just make sure you look for the markets of authenticity. Cuernavaca in the area we went is beautiful, it's a bit rushed though. Taxco is nice, I ditched the meal in favour of walking around (brought my own food) but with the delays in waiting for people who never showed up that might be hard unless you pack snacks. I felt there was not enough time in Taxco to do anything but walk around the area, since museums and points of interest were a bit far for the time we had. It was a bit too much time in that area as a result. Wish they allowed more time in Cuernavaca or I had known the time we were supposed to leave wasn't going to be honoured, I could have done more besides wait in a bus for 40 minutes doing nothing. I suggest the tour guide gather everyone's numbers before we're given free time so this doesn't happen to other people. Despite the company reaching out in advance (so I know they had our numbers!) it took them forever to reach the people, and they still waited 10-15 minutes after the people didn't pick up before we were allowed to leave. I can't believe how incredibly rude those people were, and while it's not the tour company's fault, reading the reviews this wasn't the first time this happened so they need to have clearer rules about leaving people behind.
Dear Customer, First of all, I need to say thank you so much for your very detailed information. Your comments will help us a lot more than a "I like it" or "I did not like it" comments. This is the only way we can be better and I cannot say how thanksful I am that you use your time in writing this review. Be sure I am taking notes about eveything you have written in here and will take immidiate actions. A small clarification is that we sell two services, with pick up at your hotel and with meeting point which was the one you purchased. That is the reason why the other customers where dropped off at their hotel and you where brought to the meeting point where you started the tour. Another point is that I am almost sure that all tours in Mexico City are bilingual. Logistically is very difficult to run a tour with only english speaking people in one van and spanish speaking people in another van. However, our trining process with the tour guides make this bilingual tours run as smooth as possible, though I get your point. Furthermore, all of our vehicles have GPS 24/7 connected with our head offices. Any deviation of the tour is immidiately noted by our staff that has a direct line with the police department. Your tour was 100% secure at all time. Yes, the policy about leaving people behind....this is a big issue. Some customers are special and wt try all of our best to keep going with the tour trying to make them follow the rules but sometimes things do not go as we want. This does not happen often and I am really sad that it happen during your tour, We apologize for it. Finally, the tour of Taxco and Cuernavaca is one of those who you can defenitly take it by your own, but is been designed for customers that do not wish to stress about public transportations, translations and maps to follow the spots. All in all, you have very good points and this will defenitly help me to take immidiate actions to correct some of our mistakes. Thank you again for your detailed information and we wish you a safe trip home. We hope to see you back in Mexico soon. If you do, please give us a call, I would like to give you a 50% discount in your next tour. Warm Regards, Kim Alva Managing Director Interliv Travel Mexico
