If you really want to understand Saint Francis and the basilica...
Had a great tour. So informative; loved the stories, history and insights. Tour guide answered all of our questions and catered to our wants and needs....a real pro. We learned so much more than just walking around by ourselves. Worth the money.

Great overview to appreciate Assisi
This was an excellent 2 hours. We learned so much about the life of St. Francis and the basilica. Serena, our tour guide was very accommodating to mobility issues and stairs. She was a treasure trove of information as well. We highly recommend.

Basilica of Saint Francis in Assissi
I never went on a private tour as too expensive. I did go on a Cosmos tour which was paid for in the Cosmos tour! It is very impressive It is a UNESCO World Heritage site. St Francis of Assisi is buried in a crypt here. The basilica was begun in 1228.
