If you want something a little more relaxing and different, this is the one for you. Our guide made us immediately feel like long time friends. I didn't expect the pink lakes experience to be as informative and beautiful as they actually were. On our boat ride the guide made sure to maximize the experience while also educating us on conservation and had an answer to every question we had. We had a wonderful time.

Beautiful experience to discover Rio Lagartos and the characteristic pink salt pans Las colorasse. Salvador accompanied us from Cancun first by van and then on the lance , he was very kind and helpful even in taking pictures. He explained a lot about the nature around us. We were lucky enough to see many species of birds, a crocodile and flamingos. It was a great experience to do if you want to get lost in the nature that surrounds that region.

Salvatore was an absolute gem! He was extremely knowledgeable on the region, birds and culture plus he was fun to hang out with. I would highly recommend him to anyone traveling in the Yucatán Peninsula!!!

This tour was amazing!!! Our guide, Salvador, was the best. Super knowledgeable and alot of fun. Even though the lagoon wasn't pink due to rains and the flamingoes were far away, he still made this an unbelievable experience. From feeding pelicans and crocs, to walking in a lagoon area to try to get closer to the flamingoes. I HIGHLY recommend this tour!

We had such an amazing day with Salvador at Rio Largatos and Ek Balam. He is a well informed guide who explains a lot about the Mayan traditions and knows every bird we saw. Another wonderful adventure with Salvdor and Best Maya Tours. We visited the Ek Balam ruins, the Pink Lakes and saw lots of flamingos in Rio Lagartos. Very professional and lots of fun. Would highly recommend this company.

Salvador is amazing as a tour guide and as a driver. He customized the tour to our best liking. He was even flexible with our last minute changes and went out of the way for us. He is a great photographer as well which gives the tour an extra bonus. He took almost 300 pics of us with his DSLR and shared them. Overall the trip was fun, exciting, enjoyable, and extremely memorable! Salvador is the type of guide in Tulum that you leave finding a new friend! I hope to hire him again!

Quetzalcoatl was incredibly knowledgeable, he and his co-guide were both super friendly. I had so much fun, that by the end of the tour, I felt like we were old friends. After Rio Lagartos & Las Coloradas, I booked other tours with them, which were equally interesting and fun. They went above and beyond, going out of their way to accommodate my needs. Quetzalcoatl not only knew a ton of interesting facts about the sites but also about Mexican culture as a whole. They also took me to some spots they knew about that were not your typical tourist traps. The tours I took with them were the highlight of my trip and the most fun I've had during my stay here.

Having spent a month or two searching for a local operator to take us on tour rather than a large 53 seat coach tour I stumbled upon this guy (Salvador). At first I was a little sceptical as I could not find a lot of independent reviews. I ignored this and booked and was I so glad I did. This was an amazing tour with an amazing genuine gentleman. He shared his knowledge of the nature, history and archaeology of the area. Joined in the tour to share the experience with us. Spent a good time at Ek Balam taking our time around the site with everything explained before heading to Rio Lagartos and Los Colorados. With Salvador and the captain we saw Eagles fish, crocodiles eat and Flamingos fly (have never seen these 3 things) before heading back with healthy mud washed off. If you need/want a small tour be it personal or private then look no further this if company you need

Our trip to Ek Balam and Rio Lagartos was fantastic! I have been on several tours (with Sal) and each one has its own charm. Our first stop was Ek Balam, another great Mayan Ruins site (one of the few that you can still climb). Sal knows so much about the area and delivers his knowledge in a conversational and effortless way. After climbing the Ek Balam Ruins, we headed to Rio Lagartos, a quaint little town. Our boat ride was so much fun! We saw two resident crocodiles up close! Sal knows exactly where to look for them and is so respectful of their space and habitat. We spotted lots of different kinds of birds, not to mention dozens of flamingos on our way to the salt mines! The views are just spectacular! Before heading back into town, we took a mud bath, lathering up with the clay from the lagoon! Once in town, we stopped at a local beach to hop in the water and rinse off. The water was a majestic bright blue, absolutely crystal clear waters! Just as the sun was setting, we had a delicious meal at the local restaurant in town. The view of the water from the restaurant was so peaceful and serene. I loved this tour because it was full of nature, delightful, and extremely low key (no huge crowds/long lines etc). You can't go wrong with any tour with Sal, but this one is definitely an all time favorite! Sal is an extremely accommodating and attentive tour guide and I would highly recommend him to any person/couple/group/family wanting to take a tour!
