The weather had been rainy and moved to heavy mist. I was wearing hiking boots, but should have rented rubber boots. The traction on the narrow red clay trails was treacherous. I fell several times. My daughter continued to the beautiful waterfall,while I stayed at the coffee plantation. Everyone was exceedingly kind.

An Unforgettable Day with an Amazing Guide! ​We had Benson as our guide today, and he was absolutely amazing! He did a fantastic job sharing the history of the local tribes and the rich culture around Arusha and Materuni. ​The hike to the Materuni waterfalls was incredible, followed by an awesome coffee-roasting experience. I never thought we would actually get to drink the exact coffee beans we just finished roasting ourselves—that was such a cool and unique highlight! We ended the day at the Kikuletwa Hot Springs, which is beautiful and was the perfect, refreshing way to wrap up a great day of activities. ​Benson, asante sana! We highly recommend booking a tour with him.

Lovely activity to throw on before or after a safari stint if you have a spare day in Arusha. In our case, this was our very first experience in Tanzania, and our fantastic guide Innocent provided us with the perfect introduction to the country. Not only did he take great care of us through the exhilarating waterfall hike and hot springs swim, but also fielded our numerous questions about our upcoming safari, introduced us to Tanzanian music (and music videos!) and taught us quite a few words in Swahili! Coffee tour and lunch were also great Roads will be bumpy, path may be muddy, and hot springs are not as “hot” as you’d expect, but it’s all part of the adventure.

We just had a fantastic 4-day experience with our guide Benson from Safari Soles sitting on it. All activities were worthwhile and well mapped out! Benson was always very enthusiastic and had a fantastic sense of humour. He knew the way and the activities well and always briefed us for the next day. Too bad we have to say goodbye to him already, hopefully the guide for the rest of our trip is equally good!

Fantastic! Johnny was a kind and entertaining guide who made the day magical. The waterfalls were beautiful, the lunch was delicious, and floating in the hot springs was a wonderful way to end the day.

We had the most amazing time on this trip, with our guide Innocent. He had so much local knowledge and made us feel so comfortable and at ease, the whole thing from start to finish was just amazing! I will definitely be recommending to all my friends and family, I would give this day 10 stars if I could!

An amazing experience that you can't skip out on when visiting Tanzania. We spent the day driving from Arusha to the foothills of Kilimanjaro where we did a spectacular hike to the Materuni waterfall. After the hike, we took some time to learn how to make our own cup of Arabica coffee from scratch - a MUST for any coffee lover. Innocent was our guide with Safari Soles. His knowledge was top tier, as was his English, and we felt very safe with him behind the wheel and guiding us through the hills of Kilimanjaro! He is truly a young up-and-comer in the Tanzania tour guide industry, and we would highly suggest requesting his services should you take this journey. Unfortunately, we were unable to visit the hot springs due to our flight arriving much later than anticipated (no fault of the tour operator), but don't doubt that it would have been the cherry on top of an amazing day.

Amazing experience enjoying first the foothills of Kilimanjaro where we did a small hike to a beautiful waterfall and thereafter we enjoyed a coffee where we brewed ourselves. After lunch we drove to the hot spring. A special thank go to our very motivated and knowledgeable guide who was there from the very first minute to the very last happy to answer all questions taking care of everything that was needed. The trip was specially very good because of our Guide Innocent from SafariSoles!

Our day with Enock was nothing short of fantastic. The pick up from the airport was smooth before heading up on an adventure to Materuni Falls. Enock shared cultural information with us along the way and we felt very safe and comfortable with his driving. The road and track up to the falls was very muddy but we had brought hiking shoes and it wasn’t a problem. Enock had also brought gum boots and poles for us to use. The coffee farm and lunch stop were fantastic and we loved our time with the people working there. Let the young people take your photos and videos for you. They are amazing!! It was a great introduction to the country. Absolutely loved our first day in Tanzania. Thanks so much Enock for making it special for us.
