We had a very nice afternoon with Avo, who knows every thing you want to know about beer and chocolate. We learned a lot about Belgium and Brussel as well.
Our host was extremely passionate and so knowledgable of this city. His stories were real and magnetic, pulling us all into the amazing history of Brussel’s chocolate and beer culture. I’m so thankful to have chosen this tour over others. This was a real treat, and a perfect way to end my husband and I’s first trip to Europe. Thank you Avo!!
Very educational but also loads of fun. As you would imagine, this tour leaves you full and happy. Awesome!
We had a wonderful time learning about the diverse city of Brussels. Arrive to the tour hungry and thirsty! We experienced so many wonderful chocolates, beer, waffle, writes, and a special ending i don't want to spoil for anyone. Such a wonderful day and worth every penny!!
Avo was absolutely amazing, it was pouring rain and he smiled the whole time we went to many chocolate shops ,stopped had a waffle ,frites and local beers. He hit the highlights of this beautiful city and ended with some amazing whiskey.
I really enjoyed the tour. He was amazing sharing history of chocolate and beer, while getting us to taste everything. This was well worth it!
What can I say about Avo? This was probably one of the best tours we’ve ever taken. Avo is so personable and very passionate about his city. You can tell the tour has been tailored to showcase what he feels is the heart of Brussels. We started the tour with some information about the grand place and then moved on to the chocolate. The shops knew we were coming and the samples had been prepared ahead of time. In the first stop we had the ability to sit down behind the scenes and really learn about chocolate from bean to bar. Then we tried some AMAZING pieces from 4 different chocolate shops which were all different. After the chocolate was the BEER. We sat at a table in the heart of the galleria and shared several different beers. My husband is the beer drinker, I am not. Avo offered me other things to drink which was nice. While at the galleria we had some delicious frites with ketchup and mayo and a loaded Belgian waffle to soak up all the beer. After that we took a short walk to a private space where Avo had prepared some tapas to pair with some more beer samples. You can really tell he enjoys leading this tour and showing tourists his side of Brussels. We even ran into him a week later and he remembered us and greeted us with a hug and a smile. I would absolutely book this tour, you won’t regret it!!
Avo was a great tour guide. We got try a little bit of everything and learn about the history of the city, as well as the history behind the chocolates, beer, and whiskey. It was very cool!
