Michal is a wonderful tour guide. He is local to the area and his family has been there for generations. We did this trip and a Prague walking tour with him on a different day. I highly recommend him. Michal picked us up at our hotel in a spotless beautiful van that was very comfortable. My husband who is very tall was very happy, he had plenty of room. Water was provided and lunch at a local Pilson restaurant was included. We had a walking tour in Pilsen which was very interesting followed by a delicious lunch and the brewery tour which was really fun.
Michal was a great guide—very knowledgeable about Pilsen and Czech history. We had a great time and highly recommend this experience
It was a pleasure having Michal as our tour guide. His passion for history was evident, and the tour did not feel forced or memorized and rehearsed like some others do. In fact, it didn’t really feel like a tour at all…more like an afternoon hanging out with a very well-informed friend. Highly recommend this tour if you’re in Plzen!
It was great getting out of the city and Pilsen was a lovely town. Walking up the church tower was a highlight. Michal was a fabulous guide - super knowledge about Czech history and culture. Lunch in Pilsen was delicious and the day was just perfect.
I searched for several tours to the Pilsner Brewery, but the vast majority only went to the factory, without the right to walk a little by the city of Pilsen. I chose this tour because it already included shuttle, tickets and food in the city. The Guide, Michal, is very friendly but also super respectful. For me, who was travelling solo, that made all the difference. We talked a lot and the trip was great. He is very attentive and patient. We climbed to the church tower (entry paid separately, on my request) and he told many curiosities about the city and the region. The tour through Pilsner Urquell is pretty nice. It is worth knowing, even more if the tour is shared with more people (pair, group). I highly recommend to anyone who can have this experience!
Great tour! Michal is an excellent guide. After picking us up at our hotel in Prague, the scenic drive to Pilsen through the Czech countryside flew by as Michal engaged us in conversation. His knowledge of history and culture is extensive. We visited the historic small town of Pilsen including a beautiful church. Afterward, Michal dropped us off at Pilsner Urquell Brewery for a guided tour. The facilities are immense and the tour is well worth the visit just to see the magnitude of their bottling operation. The history of Pilsner beer was interesting and underground tunnels were incredible. Of course the best part was the tasting directly from an aged barrel!!! Michal was waiting for us at the end of the tour. We had time to browse the gift shop before having lunch. We could have ate at the brewery but Michal suggested an alternative so we dined at a restaurant in town where locals frequent & the first place to serve Pilsner Urquell. Food was excellent. This was a great way to end our 10 day vacation cruising the Danube River and 3 days in Prague. Michal offers many different city tours of Prague and other sites such as Cesky Krumlov and Kutna Hora. I highly recommend Michal as your personal guide while visiting Prague and the Czech Republic. You won’t be disappointed!
Michal is the best guide you could ever find. He was very attentive and knowledgeable of Pilzen history and attractions. We had wonderful Czech lunch in a historical Cafe. Michal kept us engaged in conversation for the entire trip. I would highly recommend this tour.
It's worth spending a day on your trip, departing from Prague. The city is small. By making a plan (find out the times and duration of the tours), you can get to know the city, visit the basements of Pilsen and take a guided tour at the Urquell brewery. We had lunch at Urquell's own restaurant, which is excellent. Food for all tastes at a fair price. The train ticket is valid for 24 hours.
Michal our guide made the trip. His knowledge and friendliness was exceptional. The lunch he took us to was very tasty.
Michal made this trip. We corresponded prior to leaving the states and set up a customized trip to Pilsen and a tour of Pilsner Urquell Brewery. Pick up and drop off at our AirBandB. The drive to Pilsen Michal explained historical facts and provided a "mini tour" during the drive. We spent some wonderful time in Pilsen Square and learned the history and meaning behind many of the structures. Again, Michal is very knowledgeable and provided us with context you could never get from a written tour guide. The weather cooperated and we made the walk up the church steeple for a wonderful view of Pilsen. Lots of stairs with some on a good incline as advertised. Then to a local microbrewery for lunch. No hassles with parking at Pilsner Urquell and a short walk to meet the tour guide from Pilsner Urquell. Good overview of their brewing process, but was made for the mass audiences. HIghlited by a taste of unfiltered beer in the cellar. Then a ride back to Prague. Michal again providing interesting conversation and details ( playing Modaul's symphony as we are traveling by the river) We did a private walking tour with Michal 2 days prior and again highly recommend. Provides the history and context of Prague and he is extremely knowledgeable.
