We just got back from our afternoon safari with Vino. We were picked up at our hotel in Cape Town at 8:30 am and stopped at a vineyard for a break. We arrived 3 hours later to have a buffet lunch of fish, chicken and lamb. The food was tasty and you could eat as much as you wanted. We went on a 3 hour drive with Vino. He LOVES his job and takes excellent care of you! He is so knowledgeable and makes sure that everyone takes enough pictures! We saw lions, rhinos, hippos, water buffalo, ostriches, gazelle, elephants and giraffes! The animals were very close and easy to see. It was an exciting and memorable day in South Africa! Our driver, to and from Cape Town was also careful. You will love going to Aquila Park. You can stay overnight there as well. It is a beautiful nature reserve!

Beware….Booked and paid for the Safari and got my tickets sent to me, organised accomodation etc, then the day prior to the tour the travel company itself “Beyond Africa” sent a cancellation saying they had no seats!! I did get a refund but very poor business organisation and no respect for the travellers inconvenience.

From start to finish this safari experience was tremendous. Mr. Jeff was welcoming, funny and knowledgeable and from pick-up to drop-off was a pleasure. The facilities at Aquila were stunning, and we were greeted with delicious wine and food. Our lunch experience included a baboon stealing our food, which was a highlight for us - and the staff tended to immediately. While on safari, our guide Nicholas was informative and patient, stopping often to point out the animals and talk about their significance. There was no lack of animal activity, it was a wonderful experience from start to finish.

The safari was nice except we did not see elephants or giraffes. It did not seem like they had many of those animals. Also, it shows a cheetah on the brochure and there are no cheetahs. The lunch was nice but you had to pay for water and tea. Also, there was a really bad storm with gale force winds and heavy rain. A lot of roads were closed and tractor trailers were blown over. Our driver got us back safely but I thought he was driving very fast for the weather conditions

Very nice and professional driver to the park and in the park we saw a lot of animals closeby and the guide told interesting info about the animals we saw.

The driver who drove my friend and I was very kind and nice and knowledgeable. It was unfortunately the rudest and made the time difficult. But Mr. Jeff couldn't have been more professional in dealing with them and trying to do his best with dealing with the people he was given. Had the people not been there, it would have been a peaceful and incredible day. We saw all the animals we wanted to see and the trip was amazing!

My first safari was an unforgettable experience! The tour was fantastic from the start—Gift and our driver picked us up right on time at the designated spot in a very comfortable Sprinter van that seated 15-18 people. The drive to the reserve was smooth, with perfectly timed pit stops for bathroom breaks. We were warmly welcomed with champagne (and a non-alcoholic option—a thoughtful touch). Lunch, included in the price of the tour, was pretty good, though it was a bit surprising that non-alcoholic drinks like my hot tea weren't included. The game drive was the highlight: we spotted entire families of zebras, buffalo, antelope, rhinos, and hippos. Three elephants strolled majestically across the plains, and we even saw two lions—one perched regally, the other lounging on her back with paws in the air. No giraffes that day, but the wildebeest and springbok herds were stunning together. It was cold and rainy, which made the later part a tad uncomfortable (though they provided free plastic ponchos with hoods). At the final stop before heading back, another round of champagne felt a little out of place in the chilly weather—hot chocolate or coffee would have hit the spot! For a first safari, it's absolutely worth it.
