Our flight was canceled once we were in route to the Naples Airport. Our driver Joe assured us we can relax and he would plan our day for us. He found a beautiful hotel on the coast, Capo La Gala . Then he took us to an amazing winery and arranged for a guide in Pompeii! He saved the day and made lemons into lemonade !

Gianluca was responsive, friendly and shared his knowledge about Naples, Pompei and Amalfi.

I prearranged this private tour for our large group with Gianluca months before our arrival. Working with him and his staff was very easy considering all of our needs and the several tours that we booked. For this full day, Joe was our driver and Guide. He had driven us on a tour of the coast the day before. We enjoyed him and his attention to detail so much that we asked to have him as our guide this day also. Both the Herculaneum and Pompeii archaeological sites deserve a full day, but being that we were short on time in the area, we combined them for a two hour tour in each location. Our guide inside each site was incredibly knowledgeable and expertly trimmed the experience to cater to our needs (some of our group is more mobile than others) so that everyone was able to enjoy the time allotted. This is where we really should have listened to Joe. He had suggested a very authentic pizza experience for lunch but the schedule was for lunch at the winery in the foothills of Vesuvius. The winery was very touristy. The food was OK. There were large groups of tourists there it did not feel private or catered. In the end, our group would’ve gladly skipped and just hit the pizzeria. Now not all was lost…Lunch was scheduled between the Herculaneum visit and Pompeii. After we completed our visit at Pompeii. Joe still took us for dinner at the pizzeria. The restaurant was beautiful. The staff was amazing and he is right the pizza is fantastic! Because of all of the extra attention by Joe, our eight hour day turned out to be 11. He did not complain he just took care of us I cannot say enough about how much we appreciated our time with him!

Our driver, Silvio, was very friendly and working hard on his English! He was very good company. We opted for Ercolano (Herculaneum) over Pompeii and our guide, Fabio, was amazing. They took us to a winery on Mt. Vesuvius, and while the wine was so-so, the lunch and views were delightful.

A very enjoyable day in Sorento, lunch, and Pompeii

We booked a full day tour on the Amalfi coast with private day tours. I was traveling with my in-laws and my uncle and his wife and the tour was totally tailored to what we were looking for. We visited Positano and enjoyed the great views of the Amalfi coast. We visited Amalfi center and enjoyed the bustling life and the beautiful coastal views. We also visited the Smeraldo grotto and had time for shopping and a beautiful lunch right on the coast. Our guide was Gio and he was very attentive and concerned about all the things we wanted to see and know about. He was patient and always looking out for us and made it just the best time ever :-) I highly recommend this company and their drivers, I am already thinking about doing another trip to the Amalfi coast on my own just because it was so incredible. This is truly the best company I have ever encountered in my travels :-) many thanks to Gio for all the care and time he took to make it such a special trip for us!

Highly recommend Sylvio as a driver and Daniella for a Pompeii guide! Our experience was amazing, Sylvio picked us up at the train station and was playing some awesome tunes then he drove us to Positano where we had amazing views of the Amalfi coast and the towns on the drive over. He detailed many facts and tidbits about the area and his hometown Pompeii on the drive as well. Sylvio then surprised us with a visit to the Limoncello store on the way to Positano and we had the BEST time at the store, we really appreciated it we spent a lot of Euros haha. After exploring Positano, snapping some photos and enjoying the ocean breeze for a little while then headed back to the car. Sylvio continued playing some awesome tunes and chatted about the history of the area while driving us to Tenuta Nunziata winery for lunch and a wine tasting. I have to say this winery food was the only disappointing thing about the day, I wasn’t great and neither was the wine. But, the grounds were beautiful and the staff were incredibly nice. Lastly, we piled in the car to head to Pompeii for our tour where we had Daniella for our tour guide and she was AMAZING. She is so knowledgeable and we really enjoyed the city, this was the best tour we’d been on! Then we got in the car one last time with Sylvio and safely dropped us back at the train station. This was an all day affair. Crowd sizes in Positano were medium-large crowds and Pompeii is a lot more space so it didn’t feel as crowded. The winery wasn’t crowded at all.

We had several days of tours with Gianluca's drivers. First was a pickup from the Naples train station to the winery near Mt. Vesiusus, Pompei, ending with a drop off at our hotel in Sorrento. We then had the tour of the Olive Oil and Lemoncello Factories, next day was the Buffalo Mozzarella Farm and Paestum, a day down the Amalfi coast, a last minute trip into Naples. And on our final day a drop off at the Naples train station. What can be said about an absolute wonderful time. We were 10 cousins, where some of us have been in the area before and some for the first time. During our stay we used 3 of Gianluca's drivers, Antonio, Francesco and Joe. Each driver based on their intimate knowledge of the area added their insightful comentary to our private tours. The value of having experienced drivers who speak your language, English, and who are familiar with the area; makes for a safe, comfortable, and most enjoyable trip. If there was a traffic jam going into Naples, the drivers knew which side streets to take. We highly recommend Gianluca's Private Tours and will definitely use them again. Gianluca was the best! Picked us up in Rome and drove us to Pompeii for private tour, then lunch at the winery and on to Sorrento. He gave us tips on where to eat and what to do. We were extremely pleased with the service he provided. Highly recommend.
