Our guide, Mr. Akhtar, gave us a wonderful day and did his job very thoroughly and with passion. He told us a lot about the history of Doha and always had a smile on his face. It was a very pleasant atmosphere, and if we had to do this tour again, we would choose him 10/10 times!

My Qatar layover was seamless and memorable thanks to the incredible guides, Akhtar (Desert Safari) and Sadiq (City Tour). The desert safari delivered a breathtaking sunset and thrill-packed dune bashing, while the city tour gave an informative, perfectly paced taste of Qatar’s top sights.​ ​Despite the initial pickup confusion, both Akhtar and Sadiq went out of their way to ensure smooth transitions between the tours. Highly recommended for anyone looking to make the most of a long layover! A quick heads-up on logistics: ​- Pickup location: The instructions mention "Exit D4," but the airport sign actually reads "Door 4" at Ground level. Knowing this saves a lot of unnecessary wandering. ​- Communication: We didn't receive advance driver details (name, vehicle, phone number), which made finding our guide slightly trickier than expected.

Our guide was amazing all the time. We were unfortunate that another vehicle crashed near our own and this delayed the tour, and yet the guide stayed behind the schedule, took amazing photos with us, accompanied us throughout the day and dedicated a lot to our experience. Besides very honest and friendly. Of those people you admire and worship for your good!

What an awesome experience! Our guide Ayub showed us a great time and sand dune driving was fantastic! I highly recommend this excursion.

The desert was very nice, but the city visit was missing the historic or informative side. Probably doing the dunes and the city tour was a compromise, finding a good driver for the dunes bashing with a city guide capabilities is not easy?

...too expensive...not worth it...most of the time just sitting in the car, getting no information. Waste of time

Excellent way to get out of Doha and see the desert! Haq Nawaz was a great guide, showing us the dunes and was a great driver. Highly recommend!

Wish I could say I had a wonderful experience like the other reviews but this wasn’t it. Our guide mentioned to us that he was assigned by the Golden Adventures Qatar and doesn’t normally do this route. We spent the morning driving aimlessly around the city with little commentary on each of the sites (no history of Qatar, the significance of each location, etc.). Our guide was basically a driver and we had to rely on ChatGPT to give us the insights behind each location. The saving grace was the afternoon in the sand dunes / desert where the experience was interesting on its own. Again, our guide had little to offer - furthermore, he seemed very inexperienced driving in the desert and had to tailgate a friend of his for reference. His lack of experience showed when the car wobbled through the dunes - it was a miracle that no incident occurred. Here is what I think what happened: the tour operator oversold the tickets and started passing it onto random 3rd parties that resulted in this suboptimal experience. It’s a shame as I was looking forward to it after reading the glowing reviews. Be warned this could happen to you.

We had a great experience with our guide, Wadood, in Qatar. He was extremely knowledgeable and shared a lot of interesting information about the culture, history, and local life. He was professional, friendly, and always happy to answer our questions. His guidance made our trip much more enjoyable and meaningful. I highly recommend Wadood to anyone visiting Qatar.
