We had a fantastic hike up Lions Head with Phil. He guided us safely up and back down, providing explanations of the views, and taking lots of great pictures. We'd definitely book Phil again for a hike or tour in or around Cape Town.

We had a great hike up Lion’s Head for a sunset hike with Phil. He was a great guide and very knowledgeable about Cape Town overall. We loved getting to know him during our hike. Prior to us getting to Cape Town, Phil reached out to communicate about the weather and make sure we knew what we were signing up for with the hike. Because we preferred not to climb down once the sun set and it got dark, Phil was accommodating and got the hike started earlier. The views from the top of Lion’s Head are incredible. This was easily our favorite activity in Cape Town!

Phil was a great guide and we really appreciated the pick up option. He valued safety first so made sure we did the hike before it got dark. He guided us up the more difficult sections of the trail and was great company.

Phil made our Lion’s Peak hike a truly enjoyable and memorable experience. From the very first meeting, he was extremely friendly, chatty and approachable, which immediately made us feel comfortable and relaxed before the hike even began. Throughout the hike, he was very proactive and attentive in managing the trip. He constantly took the initiative to update us about the weather conditions, and we sincerely appreciated how closely he monitored everything, especially given the challenging and unpredictable weather in Cape Town. His attentiveness and careful planning made the hike feel much safer and more manageable for us. We also appreciated how considerate he was throughout the climb. He paced himself according to our abilities and ensured that my husband and I was comfortable along the way, which made the experience much more enjoyable and less intimidating. Overall, Phil was sincere and genuinely enjoyable to be around. His friendly personality, attentiveness and care made a huge difference to our experience, and we would definitely recommend him to anyone looking to hike Lion’s Peak.

Had an amazing solo hike up Lion’s Head with Phil and honestly couldn’t have asked for a better guide. I reached out last minute and he responded straight away, super easy communication and he was right on time for pickup. From the start he was really approachable and easy to chat to, which made the whole experience feel relaxed. He kept a close eye on my pace the entire way up, never rushed me, and gave really helpful tips along the tougher sections. You can tell he’s very experienced and genuinely cares about the people he’s guiding, even checking in on other hikers who looked like they might be struggling. He also shared some really interesting insights about the landscape and surroundings, which added so much more to the hike. And the highlight, he even brought Jaffa Cakes for us to enjoy at the top, which was such a thoughtful touch. Overall a brilliant experience, great value for money and I’d 100% recommend Phil to anyone thinking of hiking Lion’s Head, especially if you’re going solo.

We had an amazing Lion’s head hike with Phil. He collected us from our hotel and we did the hike at a great pace, pausing to take pictures of the incredible scenery and spending some time relaxing at the top. I felt at some points going down was harder than going up but Phil was excellent in guiding us where to step and offering a hand at the tricky bits and taking pics and videos for us for some great memories. I highly recommend booking with Phil, we had a great afternoon and it really wouldn’t have been the same experience trying to do this on our own.

Phil was a great guide, super friendly and even picked us up from the hotel for a small charge. We felt very safe with him during the hike and he let us set the pace so we were comfortable throughout stopping to take in the scenery. Would definitely recommend him for any hike of the area!

The hike was wonderful and the guide Phill was amazing. He gave amazing hints not only on the hike but on the city! The hike is not hard but requires attention.
