この美しい旅は、スウェーデンとストックホルムの簡単な紹介から始まります。スウェーデンの正式名称は「スウェーデン王国」。この時点で目にする建物の多くは、ロイヤル コネクションを持っています。目の前の雄大な王宮は、18 世紀初頭に壮大なバロック様式で建てられました。オペラハウスは、スウェーデン王グスタフ 3 世についてジュゼッペ ヴェルディが作曲したオペラ「仮面舞踏会」に登場します。広場の反対側にある古典的なスタイルの美しい家屋は、現在外務省が入っており、かつては王位継承者の宮殿でした。
次に、スウェーデン政府の歴史を探ります。国会議事堂は、ネオ バロック様式のファサード セクションを備えたネオルネッサンス様式で設計されました。国会議事堂は 1897 年から 1905 年にかけて建設されました。 議会 (riksdagen) の前身は、宮殿で国王に会う前に、貴族、聖職者、市民、農民が個別に話し合いを行う「エステートの Riksdag」 (Ståndsriksdagen) でした。 1866 年に解散するまで、この機関は国王に次ぐスウェーデンの最高機関でした。 1866 年に 2 つの議院を持つ議会が導入されましたが、すべての市民に平等な投票権はありませんでした。一般選挙権を伴う最初の選挙は 1921 年に行われました。これは、自由主義者と社会主義者が率いる長い政治闘争の後でした。 1975 年に憲法が変更され、議会の 2 つの議院が 1 つに統合されました。国王は代表的な役割しか持たず、実権を持たないことも確認された。
リクスブロン橋からはナイツ アイランド、首相官邸、政府庁舎、貴族院を眺めることができます。毎年ノーベル賞の晩餐会が開催される市庁舎も見ることができます。
「レジョンバッケン」は王宮の北側にあります。 Lejonbacken は、ストックホルムで最も人気のある写真スポットの 1 つです。 17 世紀から 18 世紀にかけて、スウェーデンは北欧で大国でした。スウェーデンの最後の戦士王であるカール 12 世の像があるロイヤル ガーデンが見えます。公園の右側には、建築様式の開花期である 20 世紀の変わり目に建てられた金融街が見えます。 また、ノーベル賞受賞者がノーベル賞授賞式のために滞在するストックホルムで最も有名なホテル、グランド ホテルも見えます。

Our guided land tour was nice. The guide was knowledgeable and nice, if perhaps a tad dry and very soft spoken. We were quite disappointed with the boat tour. We enjoyed the sights, but there was no live guide, just a recording we listened to. That recording was not really timed with the movement of the boat, so we were frequently hearing about things we had already passed or not yet gotten to, which was extremely confusing. A good part of the time we had no idea what we were looking at.

At the same time, we are sorry to learn that the boat tour did not meet your expectations. The audio commentary on the sightseeing boats is normally synchronized with the route, and we rarely receive comments about timing issues. However, on the day of your visit the regular departure point below the Royal Palace had been temporarily relocated due to preparations for the upcoming Golden Wedding Anniversary celebrations of Their Majesties the King and Queen. It is possible that this unusual change affected the timing of the recorded commentary and contributed to the confusion you experienced. We understand how frustrating it can be when the commentary does not match what you are seeing, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. Nice overview of a beautiful city. We did this tour on a sunny and cold day with Bengt. He was a great tour guide, telling us all about the history of Stockholm and the beautiful buildings. We then got in a boat tour of the surrounding waters and islands. Very cool to see and hear the river ice being broken up by the boat.
