Buy at the boat ticket desk. Aunt is selling lanterns with them and there is a fee for the boat signage, but the lanterns are good price.
At first they said two were about 300 yen in Japanese yen, but I still had time until the sun went down, so when I told them I didn't need them now because I was going to buy them when I got on the boat, they said two were fine and I bought them.
We were able to get on the boat together and the boatman took a lot of pictures.
The lights are beautiful.

Well organised. Good communication.
Worked well, with great communication.
Met at the meeting point, and taken straight to the boat, skipping in front of those queuing.
However the boat guy was coughing and sneezing for the whole trip. We moved to face the opposite way.
