The tower is very busy. We climbed, or rather got there, by tuk tuk. 1,500 rupees non-negotiable. Entry fee per person 2,000 rupees. But it's worth it just for the view. I'm not sure if the monkeys weren't more important to my niece than the tower? 😊

The driver was friendly and helpful with taking photos for us. The tower was absolutely worth seeing but if you're uncomfortable with heights, it might be a good idea to give it a miss as the path up the tower gets thinner as you go up so passing people and children going the other way is "interesting".

We had a great time going to Ambuluwawa tower. Our tour guide Pali was amazing. He picked us up from our hotel and took us to the tower by tuk tuk which was a great experience in itself! He was eager to point out the sights to us and stop if we wished. The view from the tower is incredible and I would definitely recommend it. If you are afraid of heights the view from inside is still amazing even if you choose not to climb the full height. A word of warning though, if you choose to climb the tower it is not forgiving if you are larger in size. It gets incredible narrow in some places.
