ヴィリニュスからリガへ日帰り旅行：十字架の丘、ルンデール宮殿、バウシュカ城

Driver was great. Hill of Crosses and Palace are not to be missed . Very enjoyable day . Could not of had a nicer driver who waited for us when we were late leaving the palace

We booked a private tour for 2. Pickup from our hotel. There was a marathon so road in front of our hotel was closed to traffic. Guide cum driver helped us with luggage to the car parked elsewhere; that was appreciated. Left Vilnius for the Hill of Crosses ( 1st stop) followed by Rundale Palace, Bauska Castle & ending in our hotel in Riga. These places are not easy to get to on your own unless you have a car so being able to visit these places on our way to our next destination n Riga was great. Our guide gave us a brief as we approach the respective sights; the same info which we had read about before we even sign up for the tour. It would be good if there were more info & insights apart from the readily available info. We didn’t get any information about the places & towns we passed by; no interaction or effort from guide to engage us. Rundale Palace was a let down although its gardens was beautiful. We breezed through all the 3 sights & arrived at our hotel in Riga around 3:30pm. We skipped lunch at Rundale Palace as there were long queues in the cafe. Given that there was only 2 of us on a private tour & we were ahead of our schedule, it would be nice if recommendations for some places to eat, have a cup of coffee or tea or just chill for a short break. We took a similar sightseeing tour with a different tour operator from Riga to Tallin & notice the vast difference in the experience & service rendered. Info about towns & places we passed along the way, short breaks & a nice cheerful guide. The experience we had from Vilnius to Riga was ordinary & business like. You get picked up & driven to the sights as per itinerary & dropped off at the end at your designated hotel; nothing more nothing less. It felt so impersonal & lacking in something.

We wanted to book a trip from Vilnius to Riga (Hill of Cross, Rundale Palace & Bauska Castle). However, the departure is only limited to Monday, Wednesday and Friday. So, we proceed to book a private trip for three of us instead. The driver cum guide was very friendly, punctual and did what was required to ensure we cover all three places. All the places of interest are very interesting and beautiful. Before starting a tour on each location, the guide will provide the needful information and some history about the places. Overall, it was a good trip and we enjoyed the tour very much including a transfer from Vilnius to Riga. The only setback was that the guide seemed to rush us through during the Bauska Castle visit, but we had ample time, so we spent the time at the castle at our own pace and the guide didn’t really chase us since we were on time. Later, we realised that he had to drive all the way back home from Riga to Vilnius after dropping us off at our hotel at Riga, so we completely understood his situation. Having said that, we appreciate his patience and service during the tour and ensure our safety on the road from Vilnius to Riga.

High price but good guide and good trip. Unfortunately the tour company still has not issued the AA points almost 3 months later. Not good business practice.

Pretty nice trip. The hill of crosses is ok, the palace is very nice, a true small version of Versailles, and the castle is very cool, even though it was reconstructed. My guide Doni was very nice and knowledgeable. A bit pricey, but nice overall.

The value of this transfer is amazing! No need to mess with airports, airlines or taxis to/from. We picked up the minivan at Cathedral Square in Vilnius, made three tourist stops on the way, and arrived into Riga at 5pm. This is an UNGUIDED TOUR, but truly no one needs a guide at these three stops. We were given some very basic information about each place, which was appreciated, and then we were off on our own to explore. On the minivan was another couple and us. The departure is guaranteed, so you can book with confidence!

We very much enjoyed the Rundale Palace and the Bauska Castle but the Hill of Crosses was easily the highlight of this fantastic tour. It was extraordinarily moving. The tour guide, Adam, was absolutely the best. I highly recommend this tour.
