Excellent humerous tour with plenty of historical and cultural background - a great start to any trip to Taiwan!!

Veronica was our tour guide, she was great! very enthusiastic and knew lots about the history of taipei + was willing and able to answer any questions we had. great tour, not too long or short. i appreciated the fact that we only stood in shaded areas haha.

Bring umbrella. Some stops no shade available Some history new to me Go inside limited to certain buildings

Leo was an excellent tour guide who gave us a great overview of Taiwan’s history and was incredibly knowledgeable about its international relations. He answered all of our questions thoughtfully and made the experience really engaging. He was even working on his birthday.. talk about dedication! 😄 I really enjoyed his energy, passion, and thorough explanations. Highly recommend his tour!

Ale was great! She ran a great tour with good vibes and she was very enthusiastic. We really enjoyed the tour. As with all free walking tours, the tip amount is optional but they recommend NT$400-600 per person, which we thought was very reasonable for the quality. The tour lasted about 2.5 hours, and covered a lot of the history and some interesting personal insights and context explaining how Taiwan being the country it is today. The group was small enough to not feel uncomfortable (around maybe 20 people). Highly recommend doing this tour for anyone and everyone visiting Taipei.

They made me feel obligated to tip at least $400. The guide spoke so fast that the whole tour felt so rushes. It was obvious that he wanted to finish the tour quickly. I don’t think it was worth $400, but I felt pressured to pay at least that. Hopefully there are better guides than the one I got.

The Taipei Old Town tour was so much better than what we were expecting. I took the tour with my 22 and 16 year old sons. The tour reads a little like a shopping experience but really wasn't. I think Derek, our guide, could tell from the start that we were there for the history and culture so that's what he delivered. We really enjoyed it. Thank you Derek for trudging through the rain with us!

TourMeAway’s Old Town tour was a perfect introduction to Taipei and Taiwan history. Our tour guide Lina used every spot on the tour to weave in stories about Taiwan history and culture. The whole family (kids and adults!) enjoyed the tour.
