Our guide, Pastor, was great. He picked us up on time, was a good driver and was very knowledgeable about the sites we were going to, as well as the history of South Africa. In addition, he was really interesting to talk with about the recent past and current affairs here. He made the ride to our destination fly by. The visitor center was really good. The exhibits and messaging was spot on, though a couple of exhibits could use some maintenance. The information regarding the archaeological site and fossils was well presented. Likewise, the exhibit at the caves was well done and our guide was very good. However, the caves themselves, though large and scientifically significant, are not that impressive if you’ve been to other cave systems. And the tour group that we visited the cave with was far too large. It was quite crowded when in the cave. This is the only reason I gave 4 stars. Pastor and Swang’s Safari were excellent.

The trip was excellent. The caves tour and Maropeng museum had so much history connected to Johannesburg. Had a great conversation with our guide and he shared so much about South Africa.

I went on a tour of the Cradle of Humankind and Sterkfontein Caves near Johannesburg with Swangs Safaris. My guide for the day was Katlego. Katlego picked me up perfectly on time at my hotel. Swangs Safari kept me informed where was supposed to come snd when he had reached the hotel pickup point. Katlego is a very polite, smart, young man with the innate skill to connect with people. I wish him all the success in his career. The drive to the Sterkfontein Caves was about an hour but Katlego explained the different neighborhoods and regions we were passing through. The caves were exciting and we learned a lot about the prehistoric site and the fossil digs. Then we went to the Cradle of Humankind museum. It was also very informative. I was not a huge fan of the little boat ride inside. I had a wonderful day and highly recommend Swangs Safaris and my guide, Katlego.

She made the experience engaging and enjoyable, ensured everything ran smoothly throughout the day. Her passion for the area really brought the tour to life and made it even more memorable.

We had an excellent time at the Cradle of Humankind and had ample time at both Sterkfontein caves and Maropeng. Katlego was an excellent driver who provided lots of interesting information. We would highly recommend this tour.

A great tour. The best part was the caves. You do need to be able squat / crouch or go through on your knees and there are a lot stairs in and out so you need a reasonable level of fitness. KG provided really interesting commentary.

Pastor was our guide - drove us to the 2 sites that we visited. Tour was very informative especially if you are interested in evolution and how humans came to be. Pastor provided a lot of information on the people, culture and the current politics in SA. He answered a lot of questions we had. Car was clean and comfortable. Wear comfy shoes with grip for the cave tour.
