The path through the caves are quite steep in places and also about 1m high for around 30m. Wear good footwear! Maropeng museum is very well done. We highly recommend Sello as a driver.

George, our driver was tremendous. I travel a lot and never had a better guide. He provided the context which allowed us to better understand.

This tour was an absolute highlight! From the moment we were picked up, the entire experience was seamless and welcoming. Our driver, Pastor, was exceptionally friendly, professional, and full of fascinating history and local insights that made the ride thoroughly enjoyable. Having fast, reliable Wi-Fi onboard during the drive was a great bonus as well. The destinations themselves were incredible. Between the rich history Pastor shared on the road and the detailed information from the tour guides at Sterkfontein Caves and the Maropeng Visitor Center, we learned so much about early human history. Everything was smooth, well-organized, and deeply engaging. If you're looking for a top-tier excursion with great comfort and unforgettable storytelling, I couldn't recommend Pastor and this tour more highly!

Caves tour was physically demanding but exhilarating. Would have been better to have more time to view the display in the foyer at the cave entrance. Museum tour was disappointing. Display area just inside the entrance was informative but the rest was like a tacky Disneyland exhibit with a bizarre boat ride that left me asking “Why?”

We enjoyed the tour. Our guide, Sello, was a very pleasant person who gave us a lot of useful and interesting information. Thank you!

There is a great deal to see and absorb at Maropeng that you need a good couple of hours to do it justice. The Sterkfontaine caves are very intertidal explore and the guides are very informative. There are some narrow sections, but unless you have real difficulty crouching you shouldn’t have a problem. The temp in the caves is a constant 18c. Our guide Cat’ who took us to and from the Cradle of Humankind was excellent.

I had a lovely polite driver. He made the drive and the visits both timely relaxing and informative Both were well worth doing.

Enjoyable half day or 5 hours with my guide ‘shout out to Kg’ whose general knowledge of South Africa in general was impressive. The Cave walk is the highlight followed closely by the drive and surroundings. Museum is also a must Maropeng for young aspiring biological anthropologists. Great way to experience history through hands on interactions. Go do it.

This is not as advertised. It is not a private or personal tour and guests are rushed through the museum to meet the schedule.

Our guide, Pastor, was great. He picked us up on time, was a good driver and was very knowledgeable about the sites we were going to, as well as the history of South Africa. In addition, he was really interesting to talk with about the recent past and current affairs here. He made the ride to our destination fly by. The visitor center was really good. The exhibits and messaging was spot on, though a couple of exhibits could use some maintenance. The information regarding the archaeological site and fossils was well presented. Likewise, the exhibit at the caves was well done and our guide was very good. However, the caves themselves, though large and scientifically significant, are not that impressive if you’ve been to other cave systems. And the tour group that we visited the cave with was far too large. It was quite crowded when in the cave. This is the only reason I gave 4 stars. Pastor and Swang’s Safari were excellent.
