I had a fantastic four-hour private photography tour with Giulio and would absolutely recommend it to anyone who wants to experience Rome through a photographer’s eye.
Giulio reached out before the tour to introduce himself, and we agreed to meet early so we could beat the crowds. We started with sunrise at St. Peter’s Basilica and St. Peter’s Square before exploring the surrounding streets and neighborhoods.
Throughout the tour, Giulio was constantly pointing out interesting people, scenes, and details that I might otherwise have missed. Since part of the tour focused on street photography, this was especially helpful. He had a great eye for spotting moments as they unfolded and helped me think about composition, light, and what would make the strongest photograph.
We covered a lot of ground, including some lesser-traveled streets, a local market, and the banks of the river. All along the way, Giulio talked me through possible shots and helped me see familiar places in a different way.
My feet were definitely feeling it by the end of the four hours, but it was completely worth it! Giulio was a great guide, a knowledgeable instructor, and excellent company. I would definitely do this tour again.

Great workshop led by a knowledgeable local professional photographer
Guilio provided a really good photography experience. He checked in what I wanted to get from the workshop and geared it accordingly.
An experienced professional photographer with great knowledge of Rome, how and where to get the best images.
Varied areas visited and captured a mixture of street and vista photography. Could never have found the same opportunities independently.

Phenomenal Street Photography Walk

Favorite Day in Rome -Ever!
Our street photography tour with Giulio D’Ercole in Rome was truly unforgettable. With only a few days in Rome before heading to Puglia, we booked a 4-hour workshop—but it quickly turned into an 8-hour adventure. Having already photographed Rome’s major landmarks on previous trips, we wanted something different, and Giulio immediately understood our preferred street photography style. He guided us beyond the tourist areas into local neighborhoods, offering an authentic and inspiring perspective of the city. Giulio taught us new ways of seeing, composing, and engaging with the streets, all with generosity and enthusiasm. As a delightful bonus, he even introduced us to the best focaccia we’ve ever had. Giulio’s knowledge, passion, and engaging personality made this experience exceptional, and we’re already considering joining one of his week-long photo tours.

Awesome Street Photography Tour of Rome
Incredible! Had an amazing time with Giulio. He was very knowledgeable about photography and also the history of Rome. He immediately helped me dial in my camera settings. Walking through Rome, we hit many different locations and he was able to show some different prospective on how to photograph them. Additionally, he was able to provide and help demonstrate how to use different techniques to take certain shots. From using shadows, to shooting through ally ways, to generating creative motion blur. He also helped with composition and most of all, showed me how to use light to take more interesting photos. .. All of the new techniques allowed me to take better and more creative photos for the remainder of the trip. As he said "Write with Light". Would recommend to anyone interested in Photography and uping their skills.

Fantastic Start to a visit to Rome
What a fantastic way to spend my first morning in Rome! Giulio from romephotofuntours was fantastic on all fronts! Giulio asked me at the beginning of my tour what I was looking for and I specifically asked for a few things: interesting photo opportunities, photo instruction and critical feedback on my photos, and to learn about Rome from a Roman. I received all plus more and it was all blended in a positive and fun way. I learned so much about Rome and photography while getting some great photos along the way. I really liked how I was instructed and the suggestions while still having the opportunity to do things in my style. That was a great learning opportunity for me to compare and contrast what I was learning right there and later in post-production. I was very glad I booked with Giulio from romephotofuntours. Thanks Giulio, I will see you the next time I am in Italy.

It was an unforgettable experience which allowed us to discover a part of Rome differently while learning the basics of photography.

Rome Street Photography
Giulio was just fantastic. I wanted to maximize my short time in Rome and have someone to guide me through the key spots and some of the less known streets and locations. We spent 6hrs starting at 5am hitting a few popular sites to get clear shots without the crowds. We then walked the streets and was grateful to receive Giulio’s expert guidance on techniques to capture difficult street shots. He helped me fine tune my settings for multiple scenarios and opened my mind to a different attitude for my photography. Giulio is an expert photographer and it’s clear that he appreciates and studies the expression of people and life. You’ll only be rewarded for selecting Giulio as your guide if you’re visiting Rome, Tuscany, or other areas of Italy.

Amazing learnt so much
