This was an amazing experience! Oscar was a fantastic and super knowledgeable guide. We were super lucky to see loads of amazing birds including a quetzal and loads of toucans, and also an armadillo! Highly highly recommend!

I can’t recommend Oscar and this tour enough. He spotted so many birds we would have never seen on our own and we had a wonderful time enjoying the incredible beauty of the Curi Cancha reserve. He is not only an expert at his craft but a lovely human being to spend a couple of hours with. This tour is also great because it includes a delicious breakfast at Stella’s before the main hike. You will need to pay for admission into the actual reserve, but it’s easy to do the day of by cash or card.

An outstanding cloud forest bird tour led by Oscar, who is an incredibly knowledgeable and friendly guide. His deep expertise, sharp eye, and genuine enthusiasm made every sighting feel special. Highly recommend! So rewarding!

Oscar took my husband and I for the 5 hour bird watching tour. It was wonderful. We saw lots of different birds. Oscar was a very knowledgeable guide and passed his knowledge with ease. Good communication and well managed. Our best wildlife tour of the holiday.

Oscar is super chill and funny but also very professional. And his knowledge is 10/10. At breakfast he expressed confidence that we’d spot my resplendent target bird and he delivered in like 20 minutes. Then we saw so many other incredible birds. My wife and I hope to have another opportunity to visit the area, and when we do, we’ll absolutely use Monteverde Wild again.

Joined Oscar for an incredible 6AM tour. We saw so many beautiful and rare tropical birds including toucans, toucanets and a few quetzals, among many other species. Oscar was both very knowledgeable and skilled at spotting the birds. He had both a scope and special lens to connect his phone to it so you could see the birds very clearly, which none of the other guides had today. Breakfast at Stella’s was also delicious. We highly recommend this tour!

Oscar was a great guide! We’ve seen plenty of species and he personalized our itinerary so we could watch the birds I was asking for! I spent a great tour and would definitely recommend to go with him for an amazing experience because he knows a lot about birds and hidden places. We’ve even been able to see species not so commonly found. Added to that we went on a great place for breakfast where we could also see bird such as the emerald toucanet (and coati, monkey). Thank you Oscar for your precious time in your beautiful lands.

We had the pleasure of going on a birdwatching hike in Curi Concha today with Oscar. We HIGHLY recommend you book this tour. Not only was Oscar knowledgeable about birds but he also taught us about the flora and fauna of Costa Rica. Oscar was able to find not one, not two, but three quetzals!!! We saw lots of other birds and wildlife as well. Truly s highlight of our trip!

My wife and I hired Eduardo Venegas as our guide through the Cloud Forest Preserve. We had an outstanding experience! He was enthusiastic and very knowledgable. We saw quite a few birds, including the Quetzal. I came away with dozens of great images of the scenery and wildlife. We like Eduardo so much we hired him AGAIN for a night tour in a different place, right in Monteverde. This was a totally different experience and got some great shots of a colorful frog (very poisonous) and also ran across a sleeping hummingbird and MotMot. We had a great time and hope more people find Eduardo!
