We were 4 travelers. The independent reviews from each person were: 2, 2, 2.7, 3. Our guide was Paola. She seemed to mail in this tour. She regularly walked at a brisk place in front of our group, caring little if we followed our not. We were only 4 people. Still she walked in front, talked as she walked, and maybe the first person could hear her. She never paused for pictures or asked if we wanted one. When we stopped for a picture she continued on walking. She would come back and find us. Sometimes she then offered to take a picture. Don't most tourists want pictures? She took a "great" picture of someone walking right in front of us at one on the sights. She was on her phone quite a bit, I'm not sure why. We tried (gently) to ask for changes in her behavior. By the end of the tour she was indeed walking quite slowly. She had stopped talking as she walked forward, and instead talked when we were all stopped. There was a problem getting into the Pantheon. She argued with the ticket people and did get us in. She said there was a problem with our names. We don't know. We showed our passports. Maybe she was having a bad day. Maybe she doesn't love being a guide. There was also a discrepancy in the listing that I am dealing with Viator about. The main page showed a 6 hour duration. We were feeling rushed around the colosseum and that's when Paola told us it was a 4 hour tour. That is not what my listing showed, so we felt cheated out of 2 more hours that we were expecting based on the listing. Not a lot went right with this tour.

Enjoyed touring and learning about the many things and landmarks of Rome.
Sara was a very good tour guide. My wife and I enjoyed her company, and she is very knowledgeable about the city of Rome.

This was an excellent...
This was an excellent tour and a perfect introduction to Rome, especially for first-time visitors. Rome can be overwhelming because there is so much history and so many incredible sites to see, but this tour made everything easy and enjoyable.
Our guide, Paola, was fantastic. She was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about the history of Rome. She did a great job explaining the significance of everything we saw while keeping the tour engaging and fun. We covered a tremendous amount during the tour, including the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and many of Rome's iconic landmarks in the historic center.
The private tour format allowed us to move at a comfortable pace and ask plenty of questions along the way. We felt like we saw and learned so much in just a few hours.
One piece of advice for future travelers: be prepared to walk a lot! There is a significant amount of walking involved, but it's absolutely worth it to experience so much of this amazing city.
Highly recommend this tour, and if you get Paola as your guide, you're in great hands!

A great tour of Rome
This was our first tour in Rome and it was wonderful. Our tour plan got a bit changed by the arrival of the King of England at the Colleseum, but our guide was able to keep us seeing so many great things to avoid the traffic from the Kings visit. Our guide was very knowledgeable and shared a lot about the city and monuments. This was a great experience and we can recommend it.

Navigate the crowds and skip the lines!
Tomasso was an excellent guide and very knowledgeable. His profession as an archeologist was very helpful to bring the city to life. He made the tour very interesting for our kids and even recommended an excellent restaurant for lunch!
I would highly suggest a private tour since all the kids questions were answered, we could focus longer in areas of interest AND was much easier to navigate the large crowds of tourist in the colosseum/forum area.
Five stars all the way. Grazie Tomasso!
Ciao!

Highly recommend this tour! Definitely worth the money!
Thomas was so knowledgeable and friendly. Very easy to understand. Meeting spot was fairly easy to find, but the address was a bit confusing. But he was standing out there with our name on a sign, with a big smile!

One of our Rome highlights! Great tour guide!
We struck gold with our guide and Roman archeologist, Tomasso! He was amazing and so knowledgeable about the city and ruins (past and present). He made it fun and interesting for the kids (ages 14-19) even recreating a gladiator battle (using dice). He was patient and flexible and even brought us to a great lunch place at the end of the tour. We were completely satisfied and all had fun! Highly recommend!
